No club from the North is winning the Cup.....and all four have issues good clubs exploit.
Leafs against the Avs....or Vegas....or TB.....or Panthers.....I do not see a Leafs win in any of those matchups. Probably a sweep, Leafs are that bad defensively.....and it gets worse with Oilers.... |

If you think the North teams are in trouble, well, then so are your predictions.
You picked NYI to win their division and the Penguins to miss the playoffs. Oops. Then you double-down and pick NYI to win in 6. Not looking good. Might be time to acknowledge that Pittsburgh is a pretty decent team. Hi kids.
You picked Vegas to miss the playoffs, then doubled-down and picked Minny to beat them in 6. That's not looking good.
You have Nashville pushing Carolina to 6 games. That's probably over in 4 games.
You have the Blues pushing Colorado to 6 games. I doubt it.

McDavid is wasting his career away in Edmonton.
His hopes for a Cup this year are riding on Mike Smith's shoulders. Ouch.

Not anymore. Too many perimeter players, no one to be a net front presence. They're like some useless narcissistic provincial bureaucrats who have an over-inflated opinion of themselves. The kind who call others racist when they themselves exemplify every trait of the erstwhile plantation master who resents any free man that confronts their preconceived notions. - MisterBrown

Just stating a fact. Its never happened.
Correlation does not equal causation. It's a pretty stupid take to be honest and wrong.
Kucherov made $12M last season (on 9.5 AAV). Or did you mean no team with a player making more than $10M AAV has won a series?
Montreal and Chicago both won play in rounds last year, both with $10M AAV players on the roster.
Edit: And considering that Montreal and Toronto are playing at least one of these teams will win a series. |

So yesterday you predicted EXACTLY what will happen in the Habs/Leafs series. You said Habs would win game 1 and then the Leafs win 4 straight.
Now today the Leafs are in trouble after losing game 1 |

Think about it, his team lost focus because of the incident, instead of half the leafs focusing on decapitating Perry and taking dumb penalties out of revenge, he fought the guy, got it over with and moved on to focusing on winning the game.
Just because this seems abstract to a reporter who never laced them up or the common fan , doesn't make it wrong , I think he did the right thing to defuse the situation. |

You're pissing into the wind with a lot of these people. They seem to think fighting in hockey is "bad". |

The worst part about the Tavares injury is this serves as a convenient excuse when the Leafs fail to win the Cup for the 50+ years in a row. Tanner probably has his article pre-written...This was the greatest roster ever assembled...having 4 forwards account for 50% of your cap is so smart...Nylander is elite, Kerfoot is elite, Galchenyuk is elite...but the Tavares injury ruined everything. |

Very sad. They dumped their coffee supplier over cost, only to see them picked up by McDonald's.
McDonald's from what I've read recently is now the largest coffee chain in the country. Better quality and real coffee beans. |

They aren't designed for that kind of play. You have to be physical to stay in the crease area or it's vicinity. There's no Tim Kerr, Todd Bertuzzi, Joel Otto, or even Dave Andreychuk on this team. - MisterBrown
That's Hymans wheelhouse. Simmonds earlier in his career, too. They're not future hall of famers, but there comes a point you need to try something else? |

Hadn't heard that. That's too bad. Last time I went to one was in 2014. My cousin decided to get married in Vaughan during the Kings/Hawks series. Had to sell my tickets to games 3&4 to fly out. We left the wedding reception to go to Tim's so we could get on their wifi listen to the end of game 3 (no international data plan at the time). I still give him poop for deciding to get married during the best series of recent memory.
When we started jumping up and down in the restaurant after the Kings were able to hold out, the manager looked at us like we were crazy, but gave his congratulations and free donuts when we told him why we were so happy.

I mean, they shouldn't be given how they're definitely the better, deeper team.
But, you know... it's the Leafs. So they'll likely find a way to get themselves eliminated prematurely. |

Perry's reputation probably got the better of him this time. In hindsight after looking at all the replays it is clearly an accident, but being a Kings fan and having to watch him in the Kings/Ducks rivalry for over a decade, it's just as easy to think that he did it on purpose.

Canโt comment on the Oilers Jets series but the Leafs will be fine. I picked them to win in five and they are on course to do that. Montreal played a perfect game. Leafs were wasteful and undisciplined. The posts and crossbars will start to drop and there wonโt be three delay of game penalties.
The cream will rise to the top. Even without Tavares |

Hi kids. I picked Leafs in 5 and gave the Habs no chance of winning this series. But they won Game 1 so now I'm counting the Leafs out. Habs in 4. But if the Leafs can win game 2 then I'll say Leafs in 5 again. Because recency bias is what it's all about.
Remember what I said before? Oilers in 5 but Jets could win in 7. If Oilers win tonight then it's Oilers in 6. If Jets win then it's Jets in 6. But don't be surprised if the Oilers or Jets win in 4, 5, 6 or 7. I'm very good at this. Thanks kids. |
