We live in a world where toughness is viewed as bullying and caveman like intelligence. It was okay that Getzel cheap shot Clutter on way to Penalty box. Or whatever tools name was that pushed Dobson into the crossbar. If that was Crosby and not Dobson. that would have been a major and the player suspended.

I am not saying that the islanders play dictates a different outcome but the officiating has clearly favored the Pens and Crosby. Almost like the NHL is scripting it.

Both teams were chippy and physical. It’s PO hockey, very entertaining and great hockey being played. I agree with you on the league / officials leaning in favor of The Pens. A narrative where Crosby goes deep in his last dance would be a good story and sells the game.

I find it hard to believe that the pens only had 3 penalties the first 2 games and 2 were part of a dbl minor but the isles only took maybe 4 or 5 in those same games. the one penalty I had an issue with was wahlstroms roughing call as that was brutal. Sure the refs could call more but at least its 5 on 5 most of the game unlike the canes preds game 2

I find it hard to believe any team having less than 15 penalties a game but that’s playoff hockey. If you don’t like whatever form of interference might as well watch the khl. PP’s are 7 a piece so far. And maybe with all the coaches whining about it the games maybe get called a little more accordingly. Playoffs definitely favour less skilled teams though that can just muck things up and not worry about the refs. Look at edm-wpg. If every penalty was called to a T mcdavid would be unstoppable.
