I just don't see the point in discussing Miller trades, he was mentioned by name as a core player by Aquilini today in the letter to season ticket holders. It would be weird to see him traded just. a few weeks later lol.
Schmidt was left off, interestingly so was Myers. - Nucker101
Miller is key to the top 6. Filled a need indeed. If moved it would have to be a very good return. Personally I don’t see him moving. Only way is if for top 4 RHD & that D man would have to be a no brainer.

Let's not forget we are still likely one of the only teams he will accept a trade to. This also free's us up to use one of OJ or Bone to trade for another RHD.
Hughes - Hamonic
OEL - ?
OJ/Bone - Myers - Retinalz
I’ve read from Yotes fans that OEL can play RHD as well |

i love the fact that as canuck fans now, this is the first thought whenever a player is acquired. - RealityChecker
I put that in there for the Ney-Sayers. Lets them know that when he declines and we need the Cap the buyout is very easy on the team. |

He’s the only true powerforward in the top 6, those guys don’t grown on trees. Hog plays a fearless game and is strong but doesn’t have the same size/stature.
Hopefully Podkolzin becomes a legit top 6 PWF, it would be awesome having two legit ones in the top 6 |

Covid protocols limited practice time, more time with Clark or a new goalie coach could help him. - Nucker101
but earlier you said that his bad play was possibly due to not getting into a rhythm and not playing enough.
so how many games are you expecting him to play next season? and yes or no, will they be enough for him to get into the rhythm you said he needed to be in to play well. |

Tampa needs to shed salary pretty badly so you'd have to think they'd consider it.
I really like Hog though, that would hurt. - Nucker101
Gotta give to get & never easy to let go a young player like Hoagie.
The real question is how good is Cernak & does he fill a bigger need. Can a prospect winger make the team to lessen the loss? |

Both reasons likely played a factor. Demko should start the majority. |

if FA wouldn't allow a buyout last season to let JB sign a player he wanted, do you think there will be several buyouts in the next few years?
from the earlier pages, it seems like a few here think buyouts are inevitable this offseason. if that's the case, does this bode well or badly for future potential buyouts.
i only ask because it seems that the talk of buyouts the last couple of seasons has been as plentiful as the talks about offer sheets. and just like offer sheets, they seem to be more unicorn than horse. |

If either OEL or Hughes can play their offside then it could work.
Hughes can be a rover on either side imo.
OEL albeit pricey is a good add but causes cap issues. The D does improve.
OEL Hughes

OJ Hamonic

Overpayment for team in cap hell and player likely e-draft non protected. |

how many games do you expect holtby to play? a mjority for demko is anywhere from 42 to 81 games.
and in your estimation, will holtby get enough games to get into the groove that you earlier said he needs to be in to play well. |

No way in hell Cernak is unprotected.
Cheap big & good.
Overpayment? Nope. RHD don’t come cheap. |

A good defenseman, Toews went for 2 2nds, and an average defenseman, Schmidt, cost a 3rd, plus his 6 million salary, so I would think a player like Foote should only cost a 2nd or a 3rd in 2022. |
