A good defenseman, Toews went for 2 2nds, and an average defenseman, Schmidt, cost a 3rd, plus his 6 million salary, so I would think a player like Foote should only cost a 2nd or a 3rd in 2022. - Reubenkincade
perfect age to grow into the role here as well. i could definitely get on board with moves like this. |

No way in hell Cernak is unprotected.
Cheap big & good.
Overpayment? Nope. RHD don’t come cheap. - Nighthawk
They can only protect 3 D so who you think they include? |

Isn’t his foote speed questionable? - Nucker101
Maybe, but I had heard that he had problems with his callan, but got that fixed |

If you're Seattle, do you take Cal Foote or Ryan McDonaugh? - Retinalz
depends on what other teams leave available.
follow up question: if someone that the canucks covet like a foote (or whomever) is available, do they call up seattle and ask them to take him and make a move?
(anyone know if seattle is actually allowed to move players like that? i'm assuming they can but don't know the e-draft rules fully.) |

Isn't McDonaugh a key to Bolts Cup D? |

I’m hoping for LE and JV bought out.
Beagle LITR.
Roussel traded.
Miller traded.
Holt by to Kraken. - dbot
Lmao
Holtby gets paid like 5.5 mill or something this year. Kraken can get good goalies for like 1 mill. Another beauty JB signing! Fu!k |

Yup.
Lots of young defensemen out there that potential get exposed. Let's see how Jumbo makes out, now that it appears he has the green light to do some stuff. |

Yes. As much as he gets poop on for the “ran out of time” comment, it sounds like he has more freedom to act fast and aggressive this summer instead of having to go through ownership. Should help streamline the process |

Krak will have 7 extra players they can trade right after picking. Lot's of moves around e-draft. |

if the trades aren't good or the contracts are overpaid, will it mean that FA told him to make the moves?
or do we only decide that once we decide if we like the move? |

Lots of unofficial handshake deals will be made. Some teams will do the same with their UFA’s. Agree to a contract but sign it after the ED |

hey, just wanted to get back to schmidt and your desire to trade him for anything more than a cap dump (eg 7th rounder.)
anyway, if the talk of him leaving after the game turns out to be false or at least overblown, will it be the fault of the media or those that took the issue and ran with it? |

getting back to holtby, you haven't said a number range as to how many games he'll get next season. and if that will be enough to get back to playing well and earning his contract?
or does JB just think that it's easier to buy him out? |

Seattle might pick him, we’ll see. I expect around 30-35 games, maybe he’ll learn to adjust to a lesser role now that he’s done it for a couple of years. More work with Clark or another goalie coach should help too with eased off covid restrictions |

They could go 4/4. Much depends on other moves they might make. |
