It's the truth, it was said after saying he wanted him back , but the media has been driving this coaching agenda as if they were getting kickbacks from the agents, good on JB for putting it out there , he's not the only coach in the game - onesmallleap
Absolutely, just like Jim Benning isn’t the only GM out there, but here we are.
My point is, if you really want to hire someone the best way to do that is probably not to say “you’re pretty good, there’s other guys out there, we’ll see what happens”.
Kind of reminds me of Starship Troopers, “you’re the lieutenant, until you get killed or I find somebody better”. |

Sorry, am I supposed to know those names? I'm not about to Google some fringe NHLers here. |

I can't remember who it was but someone here said JV would be in the KHL within 2 years and that was before the accusation. Good call. lol - LordHumungous
If he’s found not guilty I could see a small market team that’s in a mlb/nfl city where it will be less of a story, giving him a shot either this summer or after a KHL stint on a cheap one year deal. |

Sanford could get a promotion, he’s likely picked up a thing or two from Clark himself

Luongo was Rollie - 1970vintage
rollie went back east and that's when ian clarke was brought in. Edit:. I might have this backwards. Rollie might have been brought in when Clark left. Can't remember but he's worked with both.
he worked more with the ginger but luongo went on to work with him as well. luongo spoke highly of his experience with clark.

All good.
Doubt we get any luck on the lottery. Detroit will, as they made the most noise about falling for 3 years.
And of course, one of Devils/Rangers will get the other lottery pick. - Reubenkincade
Your turn...
NYR can only move up 10 spots so no
So NJD it is lol |

Lol... no offense, but that's pretty stupid. Like, great goalie coaches just spawn somewhere? The best ones are just out of work right now waiting to be hired? Or, does one with an outstanding resume that your number 1 goalie loves who has elevated his game need a new contract from you, because you already employ him?
I get not letting the public decide things, but just say "we're in talks", don't talk poop about him to the media. And the odds of hiring a better goalie coach than one of the top 3/5 already in the business in insanely small. |

When has Benning allowed media pressure to guide even one of his decisions?
I’ll hang up and listen to your answer.
This is so lame.
If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. When asked a question you don’t want to answer, simply deflect. Putting down the quality of work that someone has done is not the way to attract good people to your organization.
Now, I don’t know this is how it actually happened, because I’m going off of what you said. |

yeah exactly.
let's remember that we're dealing with multi-millions of dollars. if/when they move to terminate, they'll have reams of documents (interviews, reports etc.) backing up why.
and if/when it gets to that point, i really don't see JV fighting it. i would think he'd want to get past this and not cause more problems with the league (if he has any inclination to get back.)
*i'm not getting into the legal/moral ramifications. not because i don't understand or don't appreciate the gravity of the situation but because we're only discussing the hockey related tangents. just wanted to throw that out there. - RealityChecker
At the time, she was a minor. I think that upgrades the likelyhood of this getting serious. |

Maybe he didn't think JB would be a moron and let one of the best goalie coaches in the league walk?
Don't think it's up to Demko to pay Clark here. |

That's some pretty terrible line of thinking. Did you read the story? It was a hotel, but that's beside the point. You're blaming her for being raped. You're literally blaming the victim here. That's (frank)ed up.
