Big time, most of them have under 5 points in 30 games. Vesy has 3 assists in 30 games. Boyd has 2 goals in 29 and that’s it. Pretty bad.

Holtby has 1 assist lol

Those are pretty much on par or better numbers than LE, roussel and Beagle though. So it makes sense to have younger/faster/lower cap hit players in the bottom 6 if they provide the same production as your overpaid "veterans".

It's pretty exciting that Benning said the Canucks will be very active in free agency & trades this off season. From worst to first!

If Aquilini is smart, he takes it away from Benning for the first week of free agency, after all it'll be his money that Day By Day Jim will be pissing away.
I would imagine that Vegas & Tampa will be the first to call We Ran Out Of Time Jim about trades considering they fleeced him previously when unloading their problem children.

JB should stay out of free agency, it doesn't work well for him.

He also doesn't do that great on the trade front.

Safest bet is to continue to monitor the waiver wire.

Plus if you play them with Elite bottom 6er Motte they should produce more.

I love the whole motte is an "elite" bottom 6 player. He's an average at best bottom 6 winger who is a good/above average penalty killer based on his speed and willingness to go into the dirty areas. He is not worth protecting and is easily replaceable lol

Hes one of our best players..... yup Its sad lmao

You think if someone started a go fund me and tweeted at aquamarine that it's to pay the difference in what's owed to JB contract wise the day he gets fired he'd fire JB once enough money is there? I know thats a brutal thing to say but fuk me a money throwing darts could handle every aspect of this job better other than drafting.

Agree but it is nice to see some positive hockey posts, gotta love Nighty’s enthusiasm.
So much doom and gloom on here, he’s a breath of fresh air.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. He’s the motor of the entire bottom 6 group, they look lifeless when he’s injured. Best PK’er on the team. Best forechecker on the team. Most physical forward on the team. Fastest forward on the team. One of the better defensive forwards on the team. Great teammate on and off the ice. Goes hard every shift.

Well worthy of protecting, otherwise the Kraken will definitely snap him up in the ED.

Congrats!
You must be relieved that it wasn't that AstraZeneca garbage that Don got.

He would have been better off getting injected in a back alley off East Hastings.

Totally agree. Protect him, he’s the pulse of the bottom 6ers, makes everyone around him a better player. With Motte in the bottom 6, JB could go after cheap ufa’s like Simon and Nordstrom.
Do it!

The problem is that he is the best at the things you mentioned above. That's why our team is bad. The qualities above are what makes him good, but again, look at the bottom 6 players on the best 6 teams in the league. Motte doesn't Crack those bottom 6 rosters IMO.

Edit - I should add that I like motte as a player and as a canuck. My comments are more so to do with the whole "elite" talk. It's rubbish imo

With Jim Benning talking about an aggressive offseason overhaul of his roster, I take a look at some potential buyout candidates in the new blog.
