Girlfriend is indoors watching some terrible reality show on a zoom call with her friends so I'm in the backyard with the bottoms of a bottle of Vouvray watching the local fireworks and I got nothing else to do

I watched lots of hockey games, seen lots of bad calls and lots of missed called. I’ve been pissed at calls that I think should have gone the other way that (frank)ed our team

I’ve never thought at the end of a game that the officiating was biased.

- Canada Cup

that's just it... clearly there are games when the officials have "bad games" - I don't believe they are consciously biased... but the vide from the Habs fans is that they "deserved better" from the officials tonight.

you simply can't be an unbiased observer of tonight's game and come to that conclusion - there were a serious of cheap shots that were called - plain and simple

if he did bump him it was not much.

Ohallaran was just embarrassed - Schonfeld calling him out was pretty entertaining. What those officials forget all to often is that all the stuff they are doing is being recorded... so those bad calls or weak calls are recorded forever.

I’m here for ya, man but the wife is asleep up stairs. I’m on the couch with kitten asleep in my shoulder and the dog snoring on the floor. I’m going to crash just like this and wake up with a sore neck and the cat long gone.

I remember that. Schoenfeld to Koharski. "Ya fat pig. Have another donut." 🤣

Good win for the gang tonight. Keep layin' the body to Gallagher and Weber. Be on the PP shortly after. Guaranteed!

First shift by Simmonds set the tone. A couple of nice cross-checks to Anderson were especially tasty. Good game and result.

We are at friends’ farm.

Did 4 km on a lazy river this afternoon. It was crazy good.

Set up projector and screen in barn. Ate 97 lbs. of bbq while watching Leafs game.

Best franking day ever.

So I am franking wired, and everyone else goes to bed at 10 pm.

I am still up...and wired.

Even enemies can agree that overall, NHL Reffing is terrible.

- Nasty_Duck

It's inconsistent - I'll give you that. I can't recall the last game I saw a cross-check called in the playoffs, Habs got called for two in a game..... shocking!

If Habs fans can't recognize that the cheapshots, crosschecks and hits from behind are (frank)ing endless from their team, then (frank) 'em.

ONE team stands to gain from dragging the game into the mud and it is crystal clear that their hope was to get away with everything and remove all skill from the game altogether.

They crosscheck on every (frank)ing play. It is endless. This was obviously the game plan.

NHL refereeing is (frank)ing abysmal and an absolute mystery most nights.

Which team do you think would actually want the rulebook to be called?

Only one of the teams had a big part of their game plan tied up in pushing the garbage right to the limit. If they want to play that way they are going to need a lot more disicpline themselves when the other team pushes back.

I am sure next game they'll get away with everything though because the refereeing is nothing if not bizarrely inconsistent.

In the first game Anderson and Taffoli were allowed to run free in the neutral zone. Most surprising they found open ice towards the middle of the ice. I thought Leafs did a very good job in taking away the neutral zone and they were able to hem the Canadiens into their own end for most of the night.

Leafs Report Card

Matthews A
Nylander A
Marner C
Hyman B
Foligno C
Kerfoot B
Engvall B
Mikeyev B
Galchenyuk B
Simmonds A
Thornton B
Spezza A
Sandin A
Brodie B
Rielly B
Bogosian B
Holl B
Muzzin B
Campbell A

Some Observations....

Matthews played like a leader , awesome. Marner is still looking a bit lost in the playoffs again, how he didnt shoot on that open net is just weird. He has to simplify things. Nylander was better than ever , skating hard and making plays, big goal too. Engvall is playing well the last month, he has to stay in the lineup. Sandin looked great on the PP and actually shot the puck, keep him on the PP1.

Simmonds did what he needs to do and keep doing, cause poop . Thornton was ok, nothing great I thought, his speed is a problem. Spezza was great and scored a huge goal .

Campbell was solid, cant ask for more.

Final note, Foligno is very underwhelming right now. This is not what we traded for , I expected a couple big hits from him and to cause some poop. I dont care if he scores or not, I want him punishing the habs.
