What the hell were the Blues thinking with that Binnington extension? The guy has looked poopty the 2 years since he had that great run. |

William Nylander=playoff warrior - RogerRoeper
My favourite 2 plays from last night....🙄
1) Willie wins the race down the ice for the puck but stops on the goal line to avoid getting hit and allows Hab to pick up the puck
2) Puck battle on side boards, Willie stops and reaches out full stick length to try to poke puck away while avoiding contact. Wiffs on puck and Habs gain control
Always funny when people see the same game totally differently 🤷

Funny how "Playoff warrior" means physicality to you and not scoring goals. It's not about seeing the game differently it's about you not valuing actual talent and goals to help your team win.

Warrior tends to insinuate toughness, maybe playoff point getter is more appropriate
Also, the person slagging Foligno🙄
He did all the defensive work which allows Nylander to get his points
I thought Kerfoot was great last night |

It is ok to be happy with everyone's performance last night.
We don't have to go looking for Leaf players to rag on when they pulled off a decisive win.

I stated earlier that it was a great team win. But when someone refers to Nylander as a “warrior”....... follow up is required |

You are overrating hits. Worthless stat.
BTW, Leafs dominated puck possession. That affects "Hits" stats |

Disagree. Kyle also disagrees, which is why Simmonds, Bogo, Thornton and Foligno were brought in. |

So, the Habs won 44 to 36 last night, and are up two games to zero.

If those players were heavily in the negative in SAT counts, they wouldn't be on the team, regardless of how many hits they throw. Not that hits don't have value, just that they are a secondary stat.

It is funny, I saw Nylander with a great PP goal in the third to put away the game and a solid determined effort. He is second on the team with SOG in the playoffs, which is a good thing, because he likely has the best shot on the team after Matthews. His three points so far ties him with Matthews for team lead. He could improve on the 2 hits so far. Simmonds only has two hits, but loved his game last night. |

Leafs with + takeaway/giveaway stats last night
Matthews
Spezza
Kerfoot
Nylander
Getting the puck kind of a good thing for a possession team, no? BTW, did you notice Simmonds snipe for the fourth goal?
Leafs took the play to the Habs all night physically, offensively and in all aspects of the game. Nylander was part of that with good defensive zone exits and entries into their zone with control. But if your measure of how he played the game is the two plays you mentioned, you’re just watching to confirm a pre-held view |

Compete level is most important
Willingness to take a hit to make a play
Blocking shots
Finishing checks when forechecking
Clearing guys from crease
See Kerfoot last night👍

I don’t think Simmonds is out there because of his SAT. The guy has been terrible at hockey, same as Joe the last bit. Simmonds is there so other guys don’t have to fight etc. IMO

Kyle brought those guys in for cheap support. He hasn't changed a thing. Same type of players being drafted and traded for.
His biggest signing by far was TJ Brodie

Kerfoot line with the most possession last night. Good game.
Some power play points for other guys who were out shot and out possessed. 🤷🏻♂️
Willie has some flashes, but I agree I don’t like when he has a 6 foot lead to get the puck and comes out of the corner without ever touching it...but thats Nylander, he won’t be changing so we just need him to score/help on the PP.
