I wonder if they can deny them access to the ACC?
- dmnted

Could but they will scream and league will fine them. Honestly Leafs can afford it so send the message I say.

Am I the only one to think the outrage over the Sun cover is a little odd? All is says is ‘Captain Crunched’ with a pic a JT after the injury. He is the captain, he was crunched, he will be okay... whats with the moral outrage from Dubas?

Keep calm, carry on...

- Hockey_Reverend

They did not need to show the picture of blood running down his face. It's there for the sole purpose of shock value. Low-class IMO.

Not to the ACC and not to Scotia. That’s a really bad response. Dubas handled it perfectly

It’s a bad message. Right now pretty well the whole hockey world thinks the Sun was scummy. Doing that turns the Leafs into the bumholes for absolutely no gain. You don’t start censoring because you don’t like a headline

The broadcast that night showed the replay about a dozen times... over and over again, and again during the intermissions... I had no desire to see it over and over again because it made me feel sick. Did they need to do that? Is anyone complaining about it?

Just don’t think a static picture like that is a big deal and worth the attention.

I remember the late 80’s when the buffalo goalie took the skate to the throat. It was on newspaper and magazine covers. The guy almost died... that was bad...

Guy could've died on tv in front of his kids and they splash it on the front page. Most people objected to the insensitivity and sensationalism. They could have buried a smaller, less graphic photo inside the tabloid. Typical Sun trash move.

I believe a picture of this made the Sports Illustrated Annual Magazine (i remember buying it) as the big sports story... right on the cover! Now that was inappropriate...

The sun cover? I think we need to relax...

That is what bothered me... they kept analyzing it and showing over and over again. I had to change the channel because my little kids are in the room...

But he didn’t die. He got knocked out. Happened lots in hockey. He gave the thumbs up and we knew it was a knockout. I was more concerned about a possible neck injury, but it looks like it is more the knee!

Probably - tasteless and crude and trying to sell papers with a really bad joke on a shockingly bad injury might cause a few people to be upset.

Next time that troll Shady1962 posts something just remember he said this...

"Nice assault DuClair committed on Kucherov but typical of those people."

He can (frank) right off. The racist (frank).

I would've picked a different photo out of respect for everyone involved, just my take on it.

And when the pap are went to press with that photo nobody other than Max knew the extent of any possible neck injury and what it might mean for his career and quality of life but hey, nice alliteration.
