2) If Quinn is not back, who should take over as coach? Gerard Gallant? Mike Babcock? John Tortorella? Rick Tocchet? Kris Knoblauch? Patrick Roy? Other? If Brind'Amour or Quinneville are available one of those If not Gallant.
3) With Mika Zibenajed a free agent after next season, would you start contract negotiations now, and if so, what type of deal would you offer in terms of years and dollars? Yes.I'd offer $8m for 6 years or $7.7m for 7 years
4) Pavel Buchnevich is an RFA with arb rights after next season, what would you do with him? Re-sign him long term or deal for a second line center? If he had to go to get a 1a center I would do that but I wouldn't mind giving him a 4 or 5 year deal.
5) New York is in the market for toughness and more physical play, where are you slotting that player in? If in the top-six or top-nine, who is in danger of losing his spot and why? I think a 3rd line forward is the right spot (along with some of our big prospects). Would I love a guy like Tkachuk? Yes but I want to be realistic. Who is in danger of losing a spot? I am definitely not a fan of Howden so whoever gets pushed down would push him out. As for who would get pushed down I would say that Blackburn would get pushed down.
6) Is Jack Eichel still your primary target at center or has his neck injury coupled with the reported high ask from Buffalo and his $10 million salary changed your tune? Never wanted Eichel at the cost it would take. He isn't a winner and he doesn't elevate those around him like a true superstar does IMO. I would rather see a guy like Landeskog if he isn't signed or Barkov possibly.
7) If Eichel is not the target, do you make a proactive move to try and acquire Aleksander Barkov or wait to see if he becomes a free agent after next season? If Gabriel Landeskog is not re-signed by Colorado, are you making him a priority this offseason? Landeskog yes. If a top line center isn't available without giving up a an arm and a leg I can see us playing Mika, Ryan and seeing what Barron or Chytil can do as a C3.
8) Vincent Trocheck is.a free agent after the 2021-22 season, given how his game has rebounded, could he be an option if Eichel and Barkov are not acquired or signed? Not for me.
9) Have you seen enough of Flip Chytil at center to determine he is not a fit there, even as a 3C, or did his play before the wrist injury and post-COVID after effects provide enough interest to give him one more shot? I would give him a shot at center and if he is better suited to wing that is fine. If he starts to be more physical and learns to be gritty that would help.
10) Was Kaapo Kakko's sophomore season a disappointment or did the progress he showed - especially late - raised your expectations for next season? I love his game and I think he will break out this year.
11) Who will be exposed for the Expansion Draft? (TommyGTrain) hopefully they protect Gauthier and expose Howden
12) What will happen to ADA? Is there any circumstance where he could return? (TommyGTrain - but pretty clear the answer on this one is he won't be back. That was made very evident in the column by Larry Brooks that ADA's time with the Rangers - despite the "regime change" is over.)
13) What grade would you give Alexis Lafreniere's rookie campaign? Is he viewed as a top-line left winger for next season? What are his main areas of work this offseason? I thought he was progressing nicely. I think he will also be a 60+ point scorer next year. He started getting a little feisty at the end of year as he got more comfortable.
14) Which veteran d-man do you want to be acquired or signed this offseason (within reason)? (have seen names such as Alec Martinez and Erik Cernak suggested) If Brendan Smith is brought back, do you still want another d-man added? I do think they need another veteran d-man but 3rd pair with playoff experience. Alec Martinez would be nice or Chara for one more year.
15) Depending on who is lost in the expansion draft, are you comfortable with two-thirds of the fourth line coming from Colin Blackwell, Kevin Rooney and Morgan Barron next season? Where do you slot Barron in, third line center? Barron is 3rd line center if Chytil goes to wing. If not, Chytil 3C and Barron 4C. I still think we need more physicality on 3rd or 4th line.
16) Do you bring back Alexandar Georgiev as the back up goalie, try and re-sign Keith Kinkaid to be the back up or sign another free agent goalie? If the right offer comes then I would trade him. I think that if he is not playing regularly then at this point in his career he won't be happy. He wants an opportunity to start. If that isn't an option then keep him for now as back-up.
17) Will Nils Lundkvist sign an ELC and come over to North America? YES!(TommyGTrain)
18) Is a Captain needed, and if so, who should wear the C on his chest? (musicnutz) (Does Ryan Lindgren's three year, $3 mil AAV extension add his name to the mix?) YES they need a captain. I think out of the current roster I would have Kreider as the C.I don't think Lindgren is ready to be a captain
19) Are you protecting Brett Howden from the expansion draft, and even if he is, does he have a guaranteed spot in the lineup next season? (musicnutz) No.
20) Presuming Adam Fox, Jacob Trouba, K'Andre Miller, Zak Jones, Ryan Lindgren are your top-five next season, how are you modifying the d-pairs or does it depend on who is #6? Fox/K'Andre, Trouba/Lindgren, Zac (or Nils) with Veteran D-man). I think putting K'Andre with Fox will steady him and cut down on his giveaways and putting Lindgren with Trouba will take some pressure off of Trouba and would be a MEAN pairing.
20) Which one or two of the young ones do you look to lock up for a longer-term deal now? Kaapo and Fox
21) If the Rangers stay in their current spot in the lottery, do you trade the pick for immediate help or start to build up the future pipeline? If we could get a good player I would trade the pick
22) What would be a successful season in your eyes? Making the playoffs, advancing, a long run? Getting into the 2nd round of the playoffs.

putting everything else aside. the first amendment applies to the government, not a private company. you can't say whatever you want while representing your company can you? i suggest you read the constitution, it's real short

I watched that Orlov hit on Miller, I didn’t see head contact from the angles I saw. It definitely looked like he caught him clean in the head but then when it was slowed down it doesn’t appear that way. If u have an angle that shows it post it up.

Not quite true.
Wilson got the $5K fine for punching Buch while he was down. The league found nothing at all wrong with what he did to Panarin.

Gallant not doing himself any favors so far in his consideration for a head coaching job leading Canada to a 0-3 record lol - TPC
Team Canada just isn't very talented this year. Can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh!t. Look at what Team USA did to them with our backup goalie!

listening to JD
basically he said that this Covid season was absolutely nuts, and a lot of players need a normal season with a normal training camp desperately
additionally, he said patience is needed with young players
and I get the feeling when he said those things to Dolan, Dolan wanted to hear none of it - jimbro83
Dolan is, was, and always will be, a piece of poop.
No reason any of those firings should have happened for the reason you (and JD) stated. One of the youngest teams in the league with no development camp being thrown into the fire.
Rangers/ Canes was the last game I was at 2 years ago. No way I will ever contribute to Dolan's purse ever again. If I do go it will be secondary market.
(frank) Dolan!

While I agree with you, do we know if there is a stipulation in his or any other contract stating that political or social views not be stated online? If not I'm kinda torn on that issue.
Let me start by saying I don't give a crap what anyone says online. Hell, I'll even supply the rope if you want to say stupid poop, and supply the popcorn.
If it wasn't for being employed by the NYR, his online persona would likely be limited to a small number of friends and family, not causing an uproar. Politics has become a bubble where nobody wants to discuss issues, that's why this is my only social media presence. Learned enough from Jimbo to never get a twatter account.
I will however leave you with this brilliant insight.

Clean shoulder to shoulder hit, caught Miller admiring his pass. Maybe a tad late, but Miller should have been more aware. Reminds me of a Stevens hit minus targeting the head.

All I was saying was dolan’s “first amendment rights” had nothing to do with the team’s fine as no private organization has the ability to infringe upon them. That’s not how free speech works. Why is it always the people who invoke the constitution who have no idea how it works
That being said Dolan is a dingbat and so is the DoPS.
This is just for argument sake and no way would I do this, but let’s say EDM decided to trade Draisaitl, the return from the Rangers (only using them bc that’s our team) would look something like this:
Buch Kakko Chytil Nils Jones 2021 1st
Is EDM better with that and filling out their lineup? Or just Draisaitl. - nyrangers9479
Thats not a particularly great trade for a reigning MVP. Also not making it hard for other teams to beat it.

well lets face it, if we want to even toss around the pipe dream of acquiring Draisatl or McDavid, if you watched that series, Shesterkin would be on top of their list

Our defense is so good, Id consider it. The only player Id be hesitant to include in a trade is Fox. Other than that, if some package of LAF and Shesty gets us McDavid, Ill pay for the cab.
wow, Darnell Nurse played 62 minutes last night for Oilers. SIXTY TWO MINUTES.
the highest TOI on Winnipeg was Josh Morrissey with 41 minutes.
McDavid played 45 minutes.
K'andre for Draisastl straight up - jimbro83
I watched until the 1st OT ended.
Pretty sure they said their 3rd pair didn't play in the final 14 min. of regulation.
Still so many issues with that team.

I still can't believe how LAZY McDavid was on the tying goal the other night, are you kidding me?
the talk of him in the same sentence of all time with Gretzky, Messier, Mario....I mean give me a break dude
by the time Gretzky was the age McDavid is now, he'd won two Cups - jimbro83
I honestly don't know what they do know.
I think the answer was touched on in the ramblings here. Trade Draisaitl for a king's ransom.
Edmonton played a 107 minute hockey game for their lives and the 4th line played less than 10 minutes, excepting Khaira who had over 5 min of PK time. On the 3rd pairing, Koekkeok under 10 and Bear under 15 min. Also known as, 16 and 25% of the usage Nurse saw, respectively.
More holes to fill than a co-ed dorm.
