With the flat cap for the next few years. Im not sure what people are really expecting when they say they want a huge shakeup.

There is only so much they can do. Big salaries can not be traded away without taking back a big salary or retaining. Either way you are right where you started.

Hopefully Seattle does us a favor and takes JVR or Jake, or even Ghost to free up some money to work with.

We just have to really hope that it is JVR or Jake that is chosen by Seattle without having to sweeten the pot. IMO it will be JVR because that makes the most sense for Seattle. They get a pretty productive player on a decent and relatively short deal.

Then we have to hope Fletch uses that money to sign a legitimate top pair d-man (who will cost us) or be able to make a trade to acquire one.

Either way, those calling for a mass shakeup just are not being realistic in my opinion.

Bill, I agree with you that the talent on the Flyers is not as bad as their record and their play in March showed. But there is something missing with this team beyond on ice talent. They have seemed like a very fragile team when the pushed by the other team or have a lethargic start to games.

Do you have any thoughts or insight on the make up of the locker room. Not looking for you to share confidential or have you loose your sources. It seems like the sum of the parts should be better then the results of being a hot and very cold team.

"This is a team that’s in need of a major makeover, and it’s gonna be a busy offseason for (President of Hockey Operations and General Manager) Chuck Fletcher,” NBC Sports Philadelphia analyst, WIP host and former Flyer Keith Jones said on NBCSP’s "Flyers Postgame Live" after Tuesday’s 6-1 blowout by the Washington Capitals in D.C.

yeah, all he says is this isn't good enough. he's basically echoing what a lot of people in here are saying lol.

What is Jones suppose to say and when have we ever known Keith Jones to be anything less than a goofball?

There is pressure in Philadelphia. Comparing Philly’s pressure to Toronto’s is a strange comparison. Toronto sells out even when they think and were a hot ticket even through ten straight years of not making the playoffs. Philadelphia’s fans might be some of the most intimidating in all of sports. They’re definitely Sone of the most hated in all of America.

We’ve had huge shakeups within the passed ten years

Kicking out Richards, Carter, Leino, Zherdev Powe, Carrillo, Betts, Nodl for Simmonds, Voracek, Couturier, Schenn, Jagr, Read, Talbot and Bryzgalov was a pretty big turnover.

We’ll probably see a summer change like that again but we’ve had plenty of turnover.
