There is no draw , only chance would be if dougie Hamilton got no offers elsewhere, he has bounced around quite a bit for such a good player. - ClaudeFather
All things being equal they are going elsewhere. Just better situations for players who want to win.
How much does this coaching staff help or hurt with free agents? |

Great night of hockey last night, double and triple over times. However one game stood out to me and that was the 3OT win for the Jets to sweep out the Oilers. On the winning goal, Connor McDavid has the puck down the left wing and has to make a simple play to dump it in deep so his defense can make a change. Well, in typical Flyers fashion, he turns it over in the Jets d-zone and a Jets defenseman quickly moves the puck up to a wide open Connor who walks in alone on Smith (since the Oilers D were changing) and scores the game winner. As great a hockey player as McDavid is, he lacked the ability to make a simple play in a critical point in the game, and his team is now out of the playoffs because of it.
And don't even get me started with Christian Jarry's gaff in Pittsburgh |

For someone like Hamilton, who I believe is soft and does not want to play with the pressure of a big market, I think it hurts. For other players who want to win in a big market, I think it helps. Big market teams are not for everyone unfortunately. |

Maybe I am wrong though I don't see any pressure to win in Philly for the Flyers. It is a country club atmosphere. Media felates all over them; rarely ever calls anyone out.
This organization it seems has accepted mediocrity.
I do agree that some player want no parts of bigger markets. Hamilton played in Calgary and Boston; that's big bright light markets. |

Add Vancouver as their GM as stated he is ready to wheel and deal.
What do the Oilers and Canucks have that would be available that would be of interest to the flyers is the question.
I do not see Hextall getting permission to move Malkin. Right now goaltending is failing them. They still can make a run or 2 with better goaltending. - hello it's me 2050
I think the Pens did a good job of putting together a team but if they don't make a run this season I don't see them making a run next season. They have to dump someone for assets at some point while they still have value.
Even if they beat the Isles, I don't see them beating Boston or Tampa or Vegas or Avs

Oilers out, sweep, changes coming
If pens lose out they will make changes, my guess is Hexy moves Malkin and starts to the reload
Plenty of teams looking for answers. Only 1 team wins it all, the others will be changing things up.
Fletcher make the right moves - wcorvette
Oilers proving once again, in hockey “superstars” don’t guarantee anything. |

Just don't see them getting rid of Malkin or Crosby. Crosby wants to win and they will follow that go for it route until he retires or agrees to be traded (unlikely). Just my take.

Neither does incompetent management/ownership. |

That collapse the other night was impressive.
I loved that Jarry giveaway last night too. |

When do you see the media calling this team out on any consistent basis over the last few years? They press treats this team and players with kid gloves overall. |

Literally the worst management in the league for more than a decade. McDavid and Drai also didn’t do enough in this series tho. |

Oh now they have to be trashing them on a consistent basis? I've seen negative articles regarding the Flyers. To act like writers don't call the team out isn't true. |

Hamilton got drafted by Boston and shot his way out of town very quickly. Boston traded him to Calgary, which is not a high pressure market in Canada compared to say Montreal or Toronto. Now Hamilton is quite comfortable in Carolina, another mid level market. I have serious doubts Hamilton would want to play in a high pressure market like Philly. |

Dougie Hamilton is 6’6”!?
I know not many are Pronger or Chara but Hamilton’s presence has never struck me as a big dude! |

They rarely criticize anything with this organization. At times sure (rarely), not overall. This organization gets a pass for the most part. |

Disagree, Calgary plenty of pressure. Also don't think Philly is a high pressure market for hockey. Though I get your point.

Did you watch any Flyers games this year? Besides Hartnell, the rest of the Flyers media were lambasting them on a nightly basis. Also article after article by Meltzer and local papers like the Inquirer were quite negative as well. Overall the Flyers took a beating this season from fans and media a like, as they should have. |

You’re both wrong. There is plenty of pressure in Philly. In Calgary there is also plenty of pressure. Where they compare with one another, I can’t say but both are great hockey markets. |

Maybe your idea of lambasting and mine differ. Care to share any articles by chance as I would be curious to see them as I don't recall many really bashing them. A few lines in an article isn't really calling them out.
