You’re both wrong. There is plenty of pressure in Philly. In Calgary there is also plenty of pressure. Where they compare with one another, I can’t say but both are great hockey markets.
- SuperSchennBros

Again, I didn't mean to imply there is no pressure in Calgary, only that its less pressure in Canada than Montreal or Toronto. I think there is more pressure in big market teams, especially original 6 franchises and franchises like the Flyers that came later.

but compared to Montreal or Toronto? That was the point I was trying to make.
- jd250

Oh geez, is the pressure on the players why both organizations have stunk for so long?

I am not wrong. It is my opinion. Don't see plenty of pressure for the Flyers.

Just don't see them getting rid of Malkin or Crosby. Crosby wants to win and they will follow that go for it route until he retires or agrees to be traded (unlikely). Just my take.
- hello it's me 2050

I see that but he will also want to protect the team and franchise. If the Isles win the Pens really have no choice to make a big move. Moving Malkin makes the most sense. Waiting another year to move him would just lower his value.

There’s not, we’ve had the same core of guys that have gone in and out of the playoffs year after year. All we do is fire coaches and GMs, what pressure do the players have? A few articles are written , Jonesy says this isn’t good enough lol come on.

"This is a team that’s in need of a major makeover, and it’s gonna be a busy offseason for (President of Hockey Operations and General Manager) Chuck Fletcher,” NBC Sports Philadelphia analyst, WIP host and former Flyer Keith Jones said on NBCSP’s "Flyers Postgame Live" after Tuesday’s 6-1 blowout by the Washington Capitals in D.C.

yeah, all he says is this isn't good enough. he's basically echoing what a lot of people in here are saying lol.

Yup, and add in that the US market could care less about hockey, Ed Snider is not going into locker rooms demanding better. The only pressure is what the players put on themselves.

I don't totally disagree; just don't see it happening. I don't see any type of rebuild as long as Crosby is around.

The GM is really amping up the pressure with that soundbite. Really laying into the team; when the season is over mind you. Players are walking on eggshells now i bet.

So lets say there is a lot of pressure. Well then these guys have failed on a consistent basis under pressure. Yet he is looking to resign them; already re-upped Laughton.

I am so looking forward to what ever changes are made; will swapping out 4th liners and bottom pair dman be the main change?

If McDavid requested a trade I wonder what the offers would look like?

This is just flat out not true. But go on.
- Ftown19125

An example -- No one from the media pushed back on the excuses laid out by av. I guess they all felt that the flyers were the only team out of a 31 team league that had players summer in Canada and that the lack of access to training facilities put them, and only them, at a disadvantage. Again, no pushback about the lack of practice; again, every team dealt with the same condensed schedule and lack of practice time. The lapdog apologist hacks that cover this team just took it as fact and did not question those excuses. Look at the reporting since the season ended; who can the Flyers get, cf understands the team needs to stop letting the puck go in the net. Pure unadulterated crap.

I feel like the avalanche could send them a package and still come out on top due to their depth. Bryam, Girard, newhook, and rantanen.

I agree with this for the most part. But AV did say several times throughout that interview that every other team had to go through basically the same thing. And they ended the interview early if I'm remembering correctly.

I'm also not trying to start an argument defending the media. Just wanted people to stop acting like nothing negative is written about the team.
