I agree with the excellent goaltening part, but can you name a team this year who has a harder goaltending road than Toronto? Price, Hellebuyck, then potentially Vasi. Thats insane.

I think Price has made more high danger saves and bailed out Montreal a lot. Campbell's work load has looked much easier, although I have no idea if the stats back me up on that.

If they were the same age it would be a much harder decision; at 27 Foligno scored 31 - which is about what Zach prorated to last year. Hyman's a puck hound, but Foligno is defensively sound, tough, and hits.

At their age disparity, no, I wouldn't keep Foligno over Hyman.

Hyman better offensively
Hyman better defensively

So, no

It is insane.
But if the Leafs do it....the media will have to STFU with some of their lame narratives.

They haven't been outgoalied.

Campbell is doing as good as you can expect him to.

It's not his fault Price faces way more high danger chances and has to make ridiculous saves and he doesn't. Can't blame him for having it "easier".

- Scabeh

I don’t blame him. I blame the fact that he has a better team in front of him.

Leafs still have to get past the Habs, and they're fighting like the bastards they are. Tampa over Florida is no slam dunk IMO.

If Quennville had picked the right goalie, they'd be in the lead.

If nobody wants to agree that Price has outgoalied Soup then I think it'd be equally as cool to recognize that a career backup is keeping on pace with one of the best goalies in the game. Price's past couple seasons were sub-par, blah blah, but in the playoffs he's done very well, including this one.
Gotta ride Campbell out as long as they can, but he's done much better than most people expected him to.

I really hope the Leafs can somehow keep both.. Which likely means Andersen is gone and maybe Dermott as well.. Plus, I don't think the Leafs will re-sign Simmonds.. If they do, it won't be for $1.5M again

At this point it is a 1000% guarantee Freddy is not even getting an offer.

Yeah I'm not calling this series over yet. I'm not trying to Roeper this one. Its gonna be tough to get through Montreal and even tougher to get through The Peg. It was all hypothetical on my part.

I find it weird that we're up in the series despite being slightly outgoalied, while also having fantastic goaltending. Campbell has silently been really good, but maybe overshadowed by Price making this series appear a bit closer than it is. And if we make it past Price, Soup's next battle is Hellebuyck. Poor bastard.
- UsernameUnknown

I think both goalies have been pretty equal. Price has had to make more "flashier" saves while Campbell has been solid steady.

One thing I noticed last night was how many off the rush chances the Habs had. I think Simpson mentioned in on the broadcast but they have a really good transition game. I didn't see much of that last night from Toronto, more just sustained grinding offensive pressure.

No doubt the goaltending doesn't get any easier - if they advance.

Makes sense though, goaltending is king in the playoffs.

His stats, the fact the new starter makes 1.6 and he'd be a massive distraction. Do you think this guy would be happy with getting a crappy offer to be backup on the Leafs? What do you pay him?

"Best goalie we've had in the playoffs since Cujo"

-Me in the predictions thread. It's way too early for me to gloat, but I guess we'll see.

Campbell has been very good and I'm glad he's starting tonight. Not enough being said about Nylander. He's been outstanding! A goal in every game so far, first time that's been done since Mogilny.

Like I said to my brother yesterday.

I said Habs in 7, if that's to happen, Leafs need to win 3 games.

Im ok with 7 games if the Leafs win 4 games in 5.

I can't decide if I should be happy he's looking good out there or sad that he looks so alone trying to score.

- Scabeh

I was surprised that he's not playing with Suzuki and Anderson.
