When’s the next ice capades featuring the leafs and habs. I would love the Habs to make that a series and beat them in 7. But the Habs suck so that’s now likely. But the Jets should lay a thumping on them. They still done even allow fans up there 😂😂. What a joke. - TogaIsles
Hey Toga, we are months behind you in terms of " the pandemic ". Fans should have been allowed non stop. YOUR DR. FAUCHI lied to every government official, and will be fired soon, amd then the Chinese government will be held accountable, along with the WHO. Our population is, um, smaller ? So it's apparently a numbers game with our different premiers |

Not sure what you’re talking about but ok. I thought Canada was close to us in vaccinations. Guess your country didn’t prepare properly. Sorry to hear that. |

He’s definitely lived up to expectations so far. Thinking Barry sticks with him game 1 vs B’s. But also wouldn’t surprise me if he went with the vet and played Varly. Gotta love Trotz always keeps you guessing. - TogaIsles
Varly definitely will get time to play next round, I can almost see Trots sitting Soro for game 1 just to give some off time.. then again, why cool metal before it's ready to be forged, eh? If Soro let's in 3+ in game 1, win or lose, I would expect Varly to get back in. If he does, I'm not even mad, he bailed us out of a ton of games during the RS. |

and right on cue penguins fans are blaming Jarry. Wasn’t Jarry’s fault that Sidney Crosby got torched multiple times last night and over the course of the series by Beauvillier, Nelson, and Bailey. You could also lump Matheson in with that. Jarry had some lumps of course but to solely blame him is laughable. Crosby as elite as he is was quite pedestrian especially defensively this series. If he’s not playing well the Pens aren’t winning. |

Trotz will stick with what got us where we are. Boston will of course be a much different match up and I would love to find a way to see you know who off the first line. We’re most likely going to need as much scoring as possible against Rask and the Bruins. The argument could also be made that we need to play a “heavy” game and that will 100% be the direction Trotz takes. Barzal and Eberle better buckle down they will be needed this series to find a way to contribute. |

Crosby at 5 on 5 had a 59.63 xGF%, 58.7 HDSC% and 62.4 CF%. He blew two assignments last night that led to goals against, and that is very glaring for him, but he also literally saved two goals himself, one in each win. To say Crosby was pedestrian, when you had a demigod in net, and Jarry wasn't the major reason they lost is laughable. Sorokin was the best player in the series.
Thanks for popping into our blog so often to chat and joke around, pretend you're a decent human, only to show your true pr!ck colors over here.
Best of luck with the B's. |

Haha jeez man take it easy. Not sure how my opinion makes me a horrible human being? I’m not much into the whole fancy stats thing but to have two points and be a -2 over a six game series is NOT good for Crosby no matter how you slice it.
I don’t agree with solely placing the blame on Jarry as with all things hockey it’s a team effort. Sure he had some gaffs but he also was real good at times. Sorokin wasn’t exactly a world beater last night and varlamov was not good for two games that we lost. You have a good group over there and it was nice shooting the crap with you guys. Especially considering that years ago that thread was inhospitable. Btw I still like you😘.

“ Trotz revealed that Michael Dal Colle “tweaked something” the other day and was unavailable Wednesday night.”
Wonder if it would’ve been a thought to play MDC over Zajac? |

It's pretty comical how we were the favorable draw for the Pens. Even going as far as to mock Trotz for pulling the goalie in our final game of the season when the game was tied, saying we wanted to avoid playing them. With hindsight it's now pretty clear Trotz was trying to get us a higher seed for a chance at home ice in the second round.
Moving on to the B's, this is going to be a tough series. I think it could go either way. Just happy to be watching at least four more Isles games. LGI!! |

Knowing Barry's preference for vets, I doubt it, but who knows? Anyway, Zajac played very well last night, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him again, at least until Wahlstrom is 100% healthy. |

Zajac played his best game as an Islander last night. Prior to that game, I had been disappointed in his play. But last night he stepped in and played great and was important player in the win. He might stay in the lineup now. |

This year's Pens reminds me a little of the Islanders of the late 80s. I remember the Isles had a good regular season, then played the "lowly Devils" in the first round of the playoffs...........and lost. It's tough to watch aging champions lose to an upstart team. Isles still had Potvin and Trottier on that team, but they weren't youngsters any more, and their young talent couldn't match the young talent on the Devils. |

Yeah definitely adds an interesting lineup debate. Not like we need anymore of those or anything |
