I would have never gotten that from a single pick, who hasn't played an NHL game yet. |

"What makes him a good GM is he's able to rebuild, properly, acquire picks, make good draft choices, make good trades, and make good cheap UFA signings. He's everything that Benning isn't."
Yzerman has done more for rebuilding Detroit in less time than Benning has had in 7+ years as GM in Vancouver |

question (half serious/half not): after 7 years, doesn't this sound like exactly the kind of thing you'd think they would do? - RealityChecker
We're slowly becoming the Diego Sanchez of NHL franchises. |

So after finishing last in the division they are keeping everybody, except the guy everyone agreed should stay. Sounds about right. - Load Management
FA is no dummy. He knows the season was a one-off. Schedule - Petey out - Covid break - whine for more covid break - Schedule. Many factors at play here lots we aren't aware of I'm sure. I'm hearing from sources inside the room that Edler punched Schmidt in the face because he felt he skated to much like Garrison or something like that. Unconfirmed of course but many side sources have commented.
really one year away from being one year away isn't so bad at this point. On paper for next season if we draft Hughes and add a 3LC we'll be right back in the thick of it. |

Once the Habs are out I'm betting Molson look past Bergevin now. 9 years there lol and nothing. The coach doesn't look like he's know what he's doing either in MTL. |

The habs had a better record under Claude didn't they? Scratching KK, caufield and romanov is next level willy D coaching. |

He seems to have a bizarre rationale for all the teams failure's.

Arguing with you is you finding one single thing and miracle their's your conclusion.
in TB Yzerman walked into Stamkos and Hedman and went to the 3rd round to missing the playoffs. 3 years later got to drafted 3oa. 8 years of failing to win the cup he moves in to Det, the next GM made almost 20 moves in two years to reshape the team and won a cup.
Now after 2 years in Det, who have missed the playoffs for 5 straight seasons now. 2 years that no Yzerman draft picks have made the NHL and absolutely no reason to think that in the 3rd season they will get better or if any of the draft picks are going to be any good except for 1 Mortiz Seider.
Edit: there's your debate. I found about 6 points compared to your 1 who has never played an NHL game. |

arguing is different than debating. I am not surprised you are using the term arguing though.
out of respect for the rest of the posters who gotta read this though, ill end this now and concede that Benning is better, Benning is the best, Benning can't do no wrong. You win the "argument". |

not at all.
i have my opinion, you have yours. I think Yzerman has done more, has a better plan, has made better trades, drafted better, and has utilized his cap space better than Benning. I am not going to go through 15 pages of back and forth with you on the same thing that you have rinse+repeated about Benning doing no wrong. Like I said, I concede your argument, you win. |

Remember I laughed. That was me ending the argument.
I have never said Benning has never done anything wrong, I almost everyday say something he has done that I have disliked. |
