Matthews was my first pick not a great pick in the pool so far.

I get the bigger base odds of the Leafs getting to the Semi's

I think that, on one hand the chart recognizes the tougher competition but then on the other hand there doesnt seem to be much allowance for that once that once the semi's start.

Leafs need to get past Montreal.
Then Winnipeg, which won't be easy.

At that point, I think they have a legit chance. I would also not believe they are a favourite. Tampa/Carolina/Colorado/Vegas I would favour over the Leafs. Injuries and wear and tear may change that opinion

If NYI beats the Pens, Leafs would play winner of Carolina, TB or Florida. We’d have home ice against TB. If Preds come out of that Division, we play NYI, Pit or Boston (tee hee). We’d have home ice against all of them except Pit

I'd actually like the Leafs to shop around for a good young goalie prospect to maximize chances of developing the next starter (between Woll, Scott, Vehvilainen, and whoever that other guy would be)

Or just rip their 2nd round pick on the best goalie available.
