It's over. Leafs played their game last night. Montreal was seen for who they really are.

Winnipeg is going to be wickedly tough. They role 4 lines and their 3rd line is one of the better defensive units in the league. They have outstanding goaltending. Still believe, they are a little bit like the Leafs, in that their defence can be exploited.

It is going to be a robust series.

Jets got beat in pretty much every stat catagory by Edm...except goalie.
Hellbuck is what you need to worry about. rest of the team is a paper tiger imo.

If they can get to hellboy they should be ok

Doubt it, I think another team gives him a starter contract

Yeah, I forget who posted that.

What a mess. The team fails, so the best player in the league needs to up his game.

WTF. It isn't the 3 guys there who are the problem, it is the other 20 FFS.

Exactly.. McDavid, Draisaitl and Nurse were good.. The rest were 'meh', so naturally you(not you, just in general terms) have to blame it all on McDavid

I like how both Was and Bos have 100% chance of making 2nd round...

You may want to take a second gander at the chart, Ducky.

Also his post is so outdated, the Leafs D is good.

He is grasping at straws so he is able to sleep at night.

I think the Jets represent a similar challenge than the Habs.... but you replace a big physical defense with forwards that actually score.

Bottom line, they can't do worse than 4 goals in 4 games.

So question for y'all.

Jacqueline Campbell starts next year?

Freddy walks in the offseason? Or signs as a 1b/backup? He's not in a very good bargaining position for a next contract.

I'd actually like the Leafs to shop around for a good young goalie prospect to maximize chances of developing the next starter (between Woll, Scott, Vehvilainen, and whoever that other guy would be)

Or just rip their 2nd round pick on the best goalie available.

- TheMussel

You would think they will be looking for a 1 year contract guy or someone they can sign for 2-3 years at 2.5M.

Ullmark comes to mind...wont get a big contract but is good. You can probably sign him for 1 year and sell him the idea of being a 1B goalie.

Maybe they just re-sign David Rittich?

No decisions on the goalie will be made until after the playoffs.

We need to see how this plays out.

I think way different challenge.

Habs are more physical and can play better defense. Jets have the better forwards.

They're a different animal, I wouldn't say their D is physical though. Morrissey/Pionk/Stanley/DeMelo aren't weiners, but they aren't exactly Weber/Chiamoron etc.

4 goals for in 4 games, when your goalie is putting in one heck of a effort.

Somehow, this is all Weber's fault.

I noticed that. We can't score! Trade Price & Weber!

Hopefully the Leafs can close this out tomorrow. It would be nice to have the North playoff series catch up to the American series.

Has Toffoli received any heat?

He has done (frank) all during the series.

They are a different animal. Defense might not be as good, but way more scoring. Also a couple of big salamis up front.

Yup, it has everything to do with Weber's inability to score on a slap shot from the blue line on their struggling PP
