I have so little idea how to handicap coming out of the divisions. I find that teams have so geared their play for their divisional rivals, it gets really hard to translate other than that there are some really good teams.

I haven’t watched a full Canes game but I wonder why they keep winning and then they just keep winning.

When they're on they're smothering defensively. Built kind of different because while they have a decent amount of talent, every forward plays solid defense. They have enough guns to keep up with most teams, but what they're really good at is dragging you to the mat and choking you out.

Woderwick suggestion:

Leafs playoff goal song should be Tom Petty’s Runnin’ Down a Dream

Montreal had a better record than the Raptors and Erin O’Toole

sure, more importantly though - Leafs should change the anthem singer back to army guy. or the gospel choir + Martina (dont remember when they sang the hymn together, but was good).

EDIT: January 2021, for MLK day.

So why would a guy from Saskatchewan be a fan of a boring team like that?

Because Montreal sucks. Winnipeg sucks.

First contending team Leafs have to face is the 3rd round instead of maybe getting unlucky and landing a tough match up in the first or second round.

This is true, but it makes up for being shafted by a stupid playoff format the last couple years. and we are not out of the North yet.

It's a good time to give Andersen a start.
It'll rest Campbell for the next series whether they win or lose and get Andersen ready in case of injury to Campbell down the road.

oh yeah...we all want Andersen in for a game 6..with a loss that sends it to gm 7

if you truly want to give andersen a confidence boost, without taking something away from campbell, that would be a logical solution though.

I don't know.. I think it should be Campbell again.. Try to end this series in 5 games and hope that the other remaining series all go 7 games

that's a really short leash for Campbell.. If the Leafs lose 1-0 on Thursday, do you still go Andersen in Game 6?

Roughriders wore green.
SC Broncos wore green.
Whalers wore green.

That's all you need when you're 4 years old.

I agree with you, and truthfully, Keefe and Dubas don't really owe Andsersen anything, he came in when Lou and Babs were running the show..

Unless Campbell gets injured, there should be no starts for Andersen.. If he didn't start the 2nd game of a back to back, why give him a start in an elimination game?

Campbell currently has a playoff record of 3-1, with a GAA of 1.01 and a sv% of .965

The crease is his, period.

if campbell would lose 3 in a row, he would be done for next season as well...

i would play campbell game 5.
70% chance he wins that.
if he wins, he'll get the start in game 1 round 2.

however, if he loses, you go with andersen for game 6 - i don't like leafs hypothetical chances for that game, but it's a good opportunity for freddy to win his teammates confidence back, and to get both of these guys ready.
i have never been a big freddy fan, but some of you guys are acting as if andersen is toskala...

Nah. You ride Campbell. He's confident. Leafs are winning. Don't mess with a good thing.

I had thought maybe last night if they had been up 3-0. But he wasn’t overworked in the season or in the series so let him ride.

100% agree with you. It's Campbell's net now.. Playing Andersen because you feel like you owe it to him, is a dumb idea.

No, just no.

It's the playoffs. Ride Campbell until (if) he falters.

This makes no sense to me

Only way Andersen sees the net is if Campbell gets hurt or clearly sh!ts the bed in a game.

This idea of starting Anderson in game 6 is asinine unless Campbell really falters.
