Lol we're complaining about the refs after the biggest win in twenty years 😂

I got banned twice by her. It's never happened to me with any other blogger. Are you sure it's only happened once? It was right after she joined HB.
- RogerRoeper

She can't ban people. Needs to get a ref to do it and Howard has been gone. Only heywoodyoublow me has been asked to get the axe.

The superteam factor renders the league non-competitive however.
- Zezel

It's going to be interesting over the next few years to see how players in all sports continue to revolt against their lack of ability to decide where they want to play.

Damien Cox was tweeting about the age-old idea of no draft - just a salary cap.

It's an interesting idea. I'm sure it would give large market teams an advantage, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing from a league perspective.

So... because the other teams have to play good teams, all their odds are lowered?

WTF. At some point, the Leafs are going to have to get through 2 of the best of those teams also.

It is penalizing all the teams with tough matchups, someone has to win those matchups.

Carolina has a lower chance because they play Florida or Tampa and Tampa or Florida have a lower chance because they have to play Carolina maybe?

yeah, I'm just going to go ahead and file that mess in the garbage can.

- Aetherial

It's basically saying that the Jets are not as good as Tampa or Florida or Carolina. So, it will be easier for the Leafs to beat the Jets than for Carolina to beat Tampa

That's kinda the point, though.

The reffing has been so bad for so long, even fans of teams who are winning games are calling it out.

My daughter swears that the kids in her high school like basketball more than hockey - and it isn't even close. Probably 2-1 or 3-1.
- Atomic Wedgie

Yeah. Hockey is more rural also I think.

Son says it's pretty close.
Basketball leagues for kids are WAY on the rise.

That should be concerning.

That Campbell trade is a ridiculous coup, both for how he's playing and his steal of a contract. We are getting better goaltending from him than we ever did from Freddy for 3.4 less per.

I know he hasn't been tested like Price, but 0 backbreaking goals in this series. we've never had that.

Everything in Toronto is so over-the-top. Nylander's deal was never bad. Worse players got more money everyone ignored.

- RogerRoeper

I know it's hard because everyone hates the red head now but remember when he played his first 3 seasons here and the terrible D he had in front of him? Do you remember him standing on his head and making 10 bell saves to keep the Leafs in games?

And so do us "Freddy Wives"

It's Campbell's crease now 100% and he's been great and the Leafs have been winning so all good in the hood.

This was never true. Media created narrative. You can still have good numbers with a bad D.

Jack Campbell is very clearly better this year than Freddy has been for us in 5 years.

- PatC80

Fine... to a point.

But then they need to get past the very best of the other teams for 2 rounds.

So how are they the highest odds to win if they beat the "weaker" teams to get there.

Unless they are counting injuries (random) or teams being "beaten up" along the way. So far that hasn't held true in at least 2 cases. Boston and Colorado breezed by the first round.

Hockey is an expensive sport. That's why so many of the players have douche names like Taylor, Tyler, Auston or Mitchell.

Well seeing the Leafs win a playoffs series should help.

It sucks that it's under these circumstances (no fans in the building, no tailgate, etc.) but seeing positive come out of that team will go a long way in creating a new generation of fans.

We remember, but he was right about the no-back breaking goals.. Heck, even the series against the Capitals way back when, that Tom Wilson OT goal in Game 1, was weak..

To me, that has been the difference between Campbell and Andersen.. Campbell seems to battle more and appears to be more engaged and focused game in and game out.

I appreciate everything Andersen has done for the Leafs, but it's now Campbell's net.. Jack's earned it.

It'll will be so amazing to hear all the people who have laughably overrated 'Winning a round" because Leafs had not done it in so long, now backtrack and tell us how meaningless it is. And yes it is a nothing accomplishment. I'vebeen telling you morons that since day 1.

There were periods of time, when Andersen carried the team, no question.
There was even a year (2018?) when I thought he was the MVP of the team.

I think his game regressed and the Leafs became a better team, so that he actually became a weak spot.

He isn't too old, I think he still has some good hockey ahead of him, elsewhere. Maybe a different and coaches will turn his game around.

No Canadian teams winning a cup since Wedgie was a kid has certainly not helped.

Hockey is far and away the worst of the big 4 sports at promoting their stars. Everyone knows who lebron James is but you can’t say the same about Crosby or McDavid. It also doesn’t help that those two are two of the most boring vanilla guys of all time.

I think winning that series is a big step forward for Toronto.

Might give them the swing they need to go far.

Although, and it's not to take anything away from Toronto here, I can't tell if it's them playing very, very well or the Habs just being terrible.

Might be a little bit of both.

4 goals in 4 games.
