So is Quebec City. If a team of investors from Quebec City offer Pegula 300 or $400 billion for the Sabres, with the intent of moving them, he should take it and let someone new come along and establish a real NHL franchise in Buffalo.

I feel the plan was always to have 32 NHL teams.. Seems to be the magic sports teams number. Allows for perfect conference numbers and playoff seedings across the board. A few teams have trouble financially (Coyotes, Panthers even when good). There won't be a 33rd team added in NHL for a long while I would think. At best you are looking at relocating, which is just a different bad org moving in.
