yup, but there was nothing around jack, ror, kane, and sam in 2015-16 and the following year...there was nothing in rochester either as those first two drafts featured prospects most of which weren't even signed...
just a horrible situation after they napalmed the hockey dept for one (two if you count sam) player - Michael Pachla
Coaching is/was a big issue too. Reinhart could have been playing Center for years now in the right system and could have made life easier for Mittelstadt instead of thrusting him into a role he wasn’t ready for.
Luckily Mitts has played pretty well lately so we have that to look forward too |

gmtm sucked at drafting...botts was in over his head...the coaching carousel was worse than a clown ride through a horror movie and like a recent article pointed out, they've also had their fair share of bad luck...
start fresh...again |

To buf:
Coots
Sanheim
Frost
1st round 2021
2nd round 2021 - SMS4016
I think that’s a good trade.
Coots isolates Cozens a year. Keeps Beniers in college.
Flip him at deadline for a 22 1st.
Get a good prospect in Frost. Another good one in 2021 with their 1st. And a bottom pair D.
Start fresh. |

I think the value is pretty fair, but it seems aimless. Like gerbe mentioned, you're getting an aged, elite asset in Couts, and then a bunch of younger guys who should, by age, assimilate well. Couts is also worth more than a 1st, if you truly want to flip him, get an elite prospect or great young player for him.
The team needs to figure out their direction and make it clear to the fans. That all rests with the handling of Jack and Sam.

Agreed. Blueberry #1 overall. Key lime 2nd. #3 is a tossup between Pecan and strawbeery/rhubarb.
And (not directed at you) Sheperds pie does NOT belong in a pie ranking. Might as well include lasagna. |

I’d actually prefer the Pegulas said nothing and left the hockey and football stuff to the the GMs. The only vision I care about is what is on the ice next season, I don’t have to ever hear from Kim or terry if we can get a good product on the ice, Adams vision is all that should matter, owners should sign the cheques and that’s it. - Sabres1523
Ideally yes. But it's his money, and he has happily opened his wallet. Not sure which one of your 3 GM's over the past 7 seasons inked Okposo or Skinner, but that 15M cap space is your biggest hurdle to navigate. I know that the LTIR retirement trend is in full force, maybe that is an option....... It's not a sellers market right now with the Cap Crunch in full force, but you certainly do have some highly valued trade assets. Im interested in seeing how all this unfolds, and hopefully the loyal Sabres fans will be rewarded with a team that at least competes, and shows a pulse even in losing games. Both the Sabres and my Devs seemed content with losing in the softest style possible. You can be a losing team that other teams still hate to play. Show a pulse. |
