Good crew in here. You guys deserve a committed blogger. Might bring more in to chat and more hits for the site. - Load Management
We just need meaningful games against you guys and the Oil so we can unilaterally talk poop about each others team, franchise and fan base! |

I and still not sold that JG is ably to take the abuse that it takes to win a Stanley cup. If he does not have to play top line minutes and can disappear until there is a pp than yes. But otherwise no. - DuranDuran
Imo Gaudreau was fine last playoffs, didn’t disappear at all, was more the rest of the team excluding our 3rd line were the magicians.
Sutter will have some input into what needs to change in Calgary, as long as he doesn’t insist on filling the roster with aging vets, I’m good with that. |

Yeah who wants a top 10 center in the NHL that’s only 24. If you were stuck in Buffalo on a crap team with no direction you’d be a miserable sob as well.
I’d do Tkachuk and Monahan for Eichel not sure Buffalo would.
Tre should be looking at a retool here, his job isn’t secure enough to go full rebuild.
Mang, Eichel, McJohnny
Dube Lindholm Bjorkstrand
Looch Ruzicka Pelttier
Nordstrom Ryan Ritchie - K-man25
Some of the best players out there are also great in the locker room, but some guys just aren't and I'm being mindful of that. My outside impression of Eichel is that he's not a great teammate - I fully acknowledge I might be wrong. I know Hall had his back, and it sounds like Buffalo is no picnic, but if you look at players around him like Skinner or Hall, they've produced more away from Eichel than with him.
There's just something weird here and I'd be careful about how much you spend to get a top 10 talent if you're not 100% sure he's going to elevate those around him.
Love the Bjokstrand addition up there btw, would love to have that kid in a Flames jersey. |

I think we should talk about the elephant in the room, nobody wants to talk about.
Tre will acquire a black player, if possible. Maybe we get a Subban in net? Simmonds out of TO? Duclair tire kicking? And there's nothing wrong with it, provided it's a good player and a good fit for the team - but this falls into the types of molds that players tend to fall into, that come to Calgary. Even with Nesterov, that seemed to go against a trend of no Russians in Calgary jerseys for a while
I'd add this to the list of typical targets, which include players from West Canada, players from Sweden, overpaying for talent (term & $/yr), players from Tre's old team coyotes, from Sutter's old team LAK + California - maybe someone from world's that Mang plays with/against. If one of these happens, I'll just laugh and say no surprise there.
I can't wait until the drafts when we find out which players stay and go, feels like Christmas in a way. Different from other years cause you know change is coming. |

Do we really need a blogger to tell us how this guy has single-handedly saved the tournament for Canada? The rush up the ice, the drop pass, putting himself in perfect position for the return pass and then BANG! Not over the net or off the goalies shoulder or off the heel of his stick but smack in the middle of the net. Absolutely clutch. Yet again. Imo, Mangiapane is the Flame's real deal.
Ok. So here's your 5 things to watch for against the US tomorrow.
#1. Game starts at 4am. So turn off your phone and PVR it. Or just have an all night party (a practicing for end-of-lockdown sort of thing.)
#2. 88
#3. 70.
#4. Remember he's only going to get better.
#5. Don't forget #1.
But that's not all! You also get a bonus question!
Bonus question: Is 88 > 13?

Completely off topic and while I agree with 99% of the things benning gets ripped for I think the criticism on toffoli was a little over the top. He was a deadline pickup who only played 10 regular season games before covid shut the season down therefore you could argue that he wasn’t a huge factor in their team making the playoffs. So swap out tanev for Schmidt (something I’m grateful for), hamonic for stetcher and handing markstrom’s keys over to demko and the Canucks pretty much started the year with the same team they had last year. I’m sure it would have been nice to keep toffoli but that’s just the risk you take when dealing for rentals.

2 more goals for Mangiapane in Canada’s semifinal win to advance to the gold medal game.
Starting to think we should nickname the dome the oven because the bread is certainly rising |

Honestly if treliving does get let go at some point I hope whoever comes in keeps the scouting staff. Not all of them will be stars but the past 5 years has given me more hope than the 5 before it in terms of prospect development past the 1st round.
Also just throwing this out there if the team wants to make a culture change backlund for Henrique, 1 for 1… |

This reminds me a lot more of #4 than #13. With all respect to Gaudreau but I think this makes his salary expendable.
Put it another way, if you only had enough money to sign one of them which one would you keep now? |

Actually, I would be more interested in Connor Brown, who seems to have good chemistry with Magpie as well. Wonder if we can get Ottawa to consider Monahan + one of our better prospects for Brown & the #10 pick? Brown is a RW that we definitely need, not sure he is 2nd line material but with Backlund & Magpie, would be worth a roll at the dice. Be nice to have the 10 & 12th pick too coming up. |

I didn’t even consider Brown because while he may be older I think he is to the sens what mange is to us. I wouldn’t say he’s untouchable but the sens have probably 10 guys they’d try to trade before him. For the purpose of speculation if monahan was traded to the sens with a player coming back I’m guessing a package involving Colin white.

Actually, Brown is 27, 1 year older than Monahan & 2 years older than Magpie, & ironically was also a 6th round pick by the Leafs. He's a UFA in 2 years, & his stats dont come close to Monahan. Why I would want the 10th over all added but we could also add a prospect not named Pelletier or Zary or Mackay. Ottawa have some young centres coming in to the fold & Monahan would be a huge stabilizing presence with that young group, while still only being 26 & have 2 more years left on his contract as well. |

Was wondering when we’d get a blog. Honestly, it would be cool if three or four of us contributed and filled that role. I’d definitely contribute and write up gamedays if no one does it by 12pm on the day of. |
