I think either Lehner or Fleury will become available so they can free up space to get more scoring.
- Rinosaur

Either one will do for the Pens....

hahaha I was thinking they'd want Jakey ...cant see them wanting a 3.5 mill backup with a very bad playoff record...but maybe

Jarry would be a phenomenal back-up for the regular season. He's still decent, he's just not a true starter. Moving Fleury frees up a lot of cash for them if it's Jarry coming the other way.

Yeah and he could end up backstopping a team to a cup before its all said and done for all we know...I mean, Jarry rrreally awoke some painful memories of some of the MAF playoff showings....but MAF turned his sh!t around in a big way. Never know for sure whats going to happen with players.

I am wondering if this year's debacle in the playoffs is going to leave a long-lasting effect on your Tristan. I worry about his mental state/confidence going forward. Rightfully so as most of the blame for getting bounced has been put on him and not the whole team for not being able to score more goals or protect 1-goal leads.

He f'n chewed. One of the biggest goalie blunders in NHL OT history aside , he let in the 1st and 2nd goal of an elimination game on the 1st and 3rd shot, both savable and with the Pens up 3-2 let in 3 goals in 3 mins including 2 in 11 seconds. Oh yeah, and in game one 3 of the 4 he let in were soft AF and the Pens scored 3 in that one.

At 26, this was Jarry's first season as a starter. Mind you, he played almost as many games last year, but it's just a different animal when you're that #1 guy, so I think there's a bit of a learning curve. I think he still has the potential to be a true starter in the league, but RIGHT NOW he's not and the Pens don't have the luxury of time to wait out his development.

Probably has something to do with going 1-2 in games they scored 3 goals. And those 2 losses where they scored 3 goals were games 1 and 6 where Jarry gave up some softies.

I honestly was surprised we didn't lock up a veteran goalie at TDL. I mean, did the FO not think we were going to make the playoffs or did they really think that Jarry/DeSmith could carry the team deep in the playoffs? Nothing during the year sure showed that it was going to be the case.

Nothing really screams "these guys can carry the load" there.

Just seems like a huge blunder. Only 2 goalies in a game. You can't exactly hide them like you would with a 7th defenseman or 13th forward.

I know, I know - hindsight!

From pens inside scoop-
I asked Jake what he's going to focus on this offseason: "Physically get stronger. I'm excited to get in the weight room. It’s going to be a good summer just because this left a sour taste in my mouth, and I know I got to be a lot better."

Plus Samsonov was not the legitimate starter going in the playoffs. Unlucky that Vanachek got hurt. So I equate that to DeSmith making a blunder like that in relief of Jarry.

I wonder what it would take to pry Miles Wood away from NJ if they'd even do an inter-division trade of that level.

You mean the best goal-tending tandem in the league? I think a few people thought they were good enough.

I'd be surprised if they traded him. I heard he took on a big leadership role this year especially after they traded the last of their vets. Not the type of guy I'd give up on a young team.
