Ok, time for a gut check here: in order for the Habs to actually score more than a goal, the perfect storm was required, 90% of it was us doing the polar opposite of what we've been doing all series:
1. refs put the whistles away.
2. we coughed up the puck a lot; giveaway machines.
3. we didn't take care of our own end very well.
4. we didn't have any physical push-back at all.
5. Campbell had a bad game.
Honestly, you remove any one of those criteria, let alone two or three, and we win that game.
I truly can't see that all happening again. |

It's being spearheaded by the same guy who has taken an abundance of pride in boasting how he was basically the only one who could ever see that Fred isn't very good.
As if Holtby is a top 5 goalie and Woll will be starter wasn't enough... Now, we're at bench Campbell play Freddie. - joel878
I also always said that while Freddie was never the Vezina level goalie some in here thought he was, he was still better than Campbell.
proposing to play Andersen if Campbell would lose game 5 (which i did yesterday before the game) is nothing more than a very consistent approach.
I understand that's something that is completely out of your fanboy world, where players are turned from hero into busts in 2 games (and viceversa) |

Keefe hitting Marner on the head with a stick.
Keefe wasn’t outcoached.
The team didn’t respond physically. It was a pretty simple game. Montreal started hitting and the Leafs had no response. As a result, the Habs were able to forecheck and retrieve the puck in our end and we had absolutely no sustained pressure in theirs.
This was the only game this has happened. Simmonds was invisible. Sandin was scared of making more mistakes and couldn’t be trusted. Hyman was forechecking but there weren’t a lot of others.
That’s not on Keefe - Canada Cup
Hits were 48 MTL to 38 TML. I guess some hits are worth more than others?
Unfortunately (fortunately?), I was only able to watch about 10 mins of the game last night so I can't really comment on the Leafs being bullied beyond the obligatory: yeah, I'm not surprised.
This team needs killer instinct. They need to keep their foot on the gas and never let up. God forbid. |

Neither did I -- nor will I -- until we inevitably lose and I can forget all about this team and this place and enjoy my sum--
sorry, that didn't come out right. |

in the world where he gave up 3 really bad goals in his last game.
should have been pulled after the first period. - MaximusAurelius
Only saw the 2nd goal in the 1st - missed the other two regulation goals against.
I don't mind pulling a goalie when he's having a rough start but you have to go back to him for the next game.
It's not even a question. |

He also made some key saves.
He was nervous, you could tell.
Needs to chill out. |

Agreed, but they had yet again an opportunity to close out a series and failed 0-5 in the past several years I believe.
But lets hope they do it Saturday |

That last part is very ironic, you're literally advocating for what fits your description of fanboy. Could you possibly be anymore dense...
Yes, take out the goaltender who has played on his head and has had the entire team rally around, for the guy no one is giving a single solitary poop that he's been sitting on the bench because he hasn't been able to stop a puck in an eon. Brilliant.
You're just next level unlocked, I'm flabbergasted no one else is capable of coming up with this aside from you.
Marner was poop too, it was always an easy solution that if we lost game 5 we played Kenny Agostino instead of Marner in game 6. It's curveballs like that with zero logic whatsoever that win cups. |

Have you ever noticed that you are absolutely giddy when the Leafs lose.
I wonder why that would be. - Leafs43
Hmmm yet he goes AWOL near the end of the games the leafs are well in control of. Bizarre. |

can we agree this is all on Dubas then?
- MaximusAurelius
Is it all on Dubas that the team is up 3-2 in the series?
Will it be all on Dubas if they win the series?
Or is only on Dubas when bad things happen? |

I honestly can't remember the last time this team had the opportunity to close out a series they were well in control of. 2001?
Best this group has ever seen was being up 3-2 against Boston, which is the situation they now go into.
People are pitching this as the same thing as always, but being up 3-1 in a series and burying the knife is absolutely foreign territory for this group. They let themselves down and still fought like hell to nail the coffin, that should be a positive not written off as the same ol poop.
If Saturday is a tire fire, that would indicate zero experience was gained from having the grip on Boston... And that would be an issue. |

If Dubas was any kind of GM he would have the opposing GMs jailed and then award themselves the cup after putting on sham playoffs |
