you do understand that reuby's position is about toughness and recognizing the deficiencies on the current team. i don't follow amateur hockey/drafts so i don't really have an opinion. i've always maintained that BPA is the best way to go in the first 3ish rounds. but i do recognize the value in seeing what the team has (types of players as well as positionally) in order to recognize the team's needs. you can disagree which is perfectly reasonable but he does have a point.
toronto is a very skilled team as well. - RealityChecker

Schmidt had 1 good season, got a big contract, went back to being an average #4 defenseman that had to be propped up by McNabb, when that failed the Knights had a hard time getting rid of the cap dump. - Reubenkincade
He’s 30 on the 16th of July. They need to leave him unprotected in the expansion draft. Either him or Myers. Seattle would take either and help us out with our cap issues. Add a pick and they might take some additional dead weight.
Edit: preferably Schmidt as the RHD’s are harder to find. |

Sure but depending on who else is added. - Nighthawk
Also have Mikey D who should be ready to backup by 2022-2023 so either keep Holtby as a mentor for one more year or he gets drafted by Seattle and sign a one year stopgap vet. |

I just don't think Myers' game is going to age as well as Schmidt's. Add in Schmidt's ability to play left and right, his better defensive acumen and possession ability, and I think he's the one to keep.
Building a trade with OJ being a piece for Cernak is something I'd be fine with. However I think Tampa will want expansion exempt players back in any trade, and OJ doesn't fit that. - NewYorkNuck
Why is it then, that Green plays Myers so much on the PK and Schmidt plays very little on the PK.
Also, Myers can also play the Right and Left side.

Myers plays all situations and yet people view him as some sort of a cap dump. It’s mind boggling. |

People are forgetting that Benning himself was a NHL dman. I’ll trust his view on how to build a defense over anyone’s on this site. - Nucker101
Excellent point. |

I’ve been watching the CAR-NSH series and watching Sebastian Aho reminded me a lot of EP. Very similar play style. - Nucker101
It looks like Aho has added a decent amount of muscle to his frame as well. Petey still needs to. |

I'd trust a Goalie's opinion on Dmen way before a Defenceman's. |

lol so true. May as well use the TSN Monkey for BPA. |

Since we’re reviewing all aspects of changes in the organization, I propose this as Fin’s replacement.
Or as at least as a stop gap back up goalie. |

Because Myers a giant and can cover a lot of ground? Why does Green do half the poop he does? Just because he plays the PK doesn't necessarily mean he's good at it.
I don't think Myers has played anything on the left side since he's been here. I mean, he could play it... I'm sure he could play forward and goalie too if he wanted. |

Including those that say, Hayton was a reach, Seider was a reach,Kotkaniemi was a reach etc.
None of us have a clue what players have been ranked by each team.
If team x thinks player y is ranked 3rd yet, team z thinks that same player is ranked 10th, then so be it...they are selecting BPA. |

Are you saying Schmidt plays well on the right side.
Schmidt struggled severely on the right side keeping the puck in at the blueline and setting up in the defensive zone. |
