Honestly, I think he just needs to stop thinking offence all the time and just focus on work and being strong on the puck. North South hockey. THe points will come if he plays harder and faster.
- Hockey_Reverend

I just posted basically this. Agree 100%. He's almost trying too hard. He's seen like 3 empty nets and held on to it to try and make a pass to make it look pretty. Thats not how playoff hockey works.

Ya, I dont think they could handle full Tucker mode...

- Hockey_Reverend

Lol - In today’s NHL I think Tucker would be cuffed and arrested after his first shift…Not necessarily him, but I do miss that type of game. Just more exciting (though less skilled and slower) and seemed to just be more intense and full of resentment and emotion. Just more fun.

Yup and he’s had massive coverage all over him. He’s trying hard and competing hard.
- Roadrunner75

That's not good enough. Look around the league at what other teams' big dogs do in similar circumstances. They rise above it and execute.

Caufield for the Habs. Won’t name a Leaf. They don’t deserve to win and shouldn’t. (frank) them.

They haven't not shown up. Plenty of opportunities. It feels like offense is dying on Marner's stick mostly.

Nylander is a big player and he's showing up. Tavares is out.

All we need is a few depth guys to pull the team forward so it buys enough time for the big boys to figure their poop out.

- Aaron_85

So 1 of the 3 big boys not injured have shown up in the past 2 games.

A little ridiculous that Isle Bruins round 2 has already started... should wait until all the round 1 games are done...
- Hockey_Reverend

Yup. There are going to be so many exclamation points and asterisks this playoffs.

Matthews has 1 goal this series and hasn’t had a single dangerous looking attempt all game.

Marner has played maybe his worst game of the year.

They have been mediocre.

Hope that changes this OT.

According to leafs43 theres another thread for realistic pov's or any opinions
- Fakepartofme

Oh good.

A self proclaimed "realistic" leaf fan.

It's game 6 in OT where the Leafs have a 3-2 series lead and you are acting like they are guaranteed to lose the series.

It's not even the lack of goals as much as he's not effective at all. I'd be fine with it if he looked dangerous and was creating chances but he's just disappeared. That and the delay of game with no pressure, seems like the mental pressure gets to him.
- 13sundin13

pencil neck female dog marner is starting to make me like greedy willi more so there’s that 👍

when we get bounced from the playoffs this year, we may realize that some different types of players are necessary as a core for a long run🤦🏿‍♂️

Agreed. Not saying it is. Just at least effort and contribution is there outside of scoring. He needs to figure out those quiet places on the ice to get to them. Thats what Betgeron Ovi McDavid et all do.
