Not sure why you keep calling 5'11 players midgets. You have recently called Blake Coleman a player at 5'11 200 lb and Cale Makar another player at 5'11 and 193 lbs, midgets.
- Reubenkincade

So a 5'10 player is a midget but a 5'11 player isnt?! I guess I'm just confused by the stupid distinction youre tryong to make. Also makar is 185.

Typically i'm fine with that, actually i've been a big proponent of it. At this point i'd do it. Bo is 26, Petey 23.

Adding a #1D for the next 6-8 years fits perfectly. Of course i'd rather not have to trade for one but they're rarely available on the trade market or FA. Drafting one has been impossible since franchise inception.....despite JB saying they'd identified one.

Never has there been enough top RHD to go around. It’s pay the price or draft & hope which is very low odds. Probability is 3C is the easy choice to focus on.

The fix as I see it is get good defensive D for the right side. Compliment the offensive lefties.

Cheaper way to go if the UFA market. Eg Savard saves assets.

I know what I said. And that’s a spelling error, not grammar. So my point still stands
- NewYorkNuck

Great because I corrected the spelling for you. Eventually you'll probably notice I didn't mention a thing about grammar.

Since the JB tenure, how many top pairing RHD have been drafted do you think?

Drysdale, Bouchard, Dobson TBD.

Makar, Fox?, MacAvoy, Ekblad.

Anyone else since 2014?

Generally Bobby Orr is considered the best ever Dman to play the game, maybe the best player ever.

As much as I hated him growing up, I think Larry Robinson is there. He didn't rush like Orr, but the guy absolutely did everything including being among the best fighters.

What's your opinion?

See McDavid that's how a dominant player plays in the playoffs.

Makar & McAvoy yes.
Ekblad was before JB.

The others are nothing outstanding.

What was Wilson thinking when he signed 3 defencemen to contracts until 40, 39, and 36.

I find it confusing that you can't read between the lines when I say something about midgets and I mention height and weight.
Yes, that means I consider Elias, a 6'2 170 lb player a midget in terms of men playing hockey.

The other point that I usually mention, that you don't seem to grasp is, you can't have a team full of small/light players, without getting manhandled on a nightly basis, which usually results in the other team winning.

Well, he's an NHL GM so there's no sense in thinking we're smarter than them.

Other than Miller for a 1st it’s been the case.

Continuing on then let contracts expire & play the kids. Going for the PO’s doesn’t mean big changes are a must. So that leaves JB hard pressed to be aggressive. JV is likely terminated & Ferland is LTIRetired. Beagle says he’ll be healthy leaving Sutter out of the picture. Left is EP & Hughes contracts. Important in how these are designed being Hughes should be a reasonable bridge imo. Petey can go many ways

No it hasn’t. Jim has taken a shortcut every year trying to be competitive- hurting the team in the future. #plannoplan

Yvan Cournoyer was one of my first favourite players. Another was Stan Makita. This nonsense that small players succeed at the NHL level being a new thing is just that....nonsense.

There have always been successful small players, it's just that much more difficult when you're slight of stature. Gretzky was said to be lucky to score 20 goals when he entered the league because of his frame.

Yes, the rules have changed somewhat to allow smaller players to be more successful but at the end of the day size, speed, skill is better than any two of that combination.
