Most amazing part of this is they created a weak Canada division that Toronto should have easily been able to get through a couple of rounds and still lost.

Thank God I listened to the Radio call instead of those NBC idiots.. they were literally insufferable. Just listening to Pierre interview Casey was a joke.
"you guys got dominated the whole game except for a small part of the second period.. u happy to sneak away with a win?"
Casey -... uh... um.. yeah they are a good team and we battled and took advantage of power plays ..
PIerre- Yes but Varlamov really stole this game for u.. no?
guys is a clown. |

I said it last night. This was the Leafs best chance to do anything in the playoffs due to them playing in that joke of a division and they still choked. Hysterical |

I’m pretty sure Pierre was screened on the play. |

The guy who is in charge of the scoreboard, shot clock, penalty clocks, etc. in Boston should be fired immediately. My son and I were laughing counting shots that were not counted. Isles at one point with Leo in front had 4 or 5 shots on net in a shift. Not 1 was counted.. even had Staple tweeting about it.
Maybe Pierre was in charge of Shots. |

For Me Leddy really hasn't been good. He has tried to do too much when he has the puck and gave it up a bunch of times in the last series and game 1. He doesn't get physical in front of the net at all... and really seems to be struggling.
I would like to see more from Casey too..
Palmieri is good.. but not Elite unfortunately... the last time I wrote that he scored 2 goals so I hope he does it again...
Eberle is really frustrating too b/c when he isn't scoring he doesn't do a lot else.. the fact that Beau is our best guy in the corners by far is a bit absurd.
Tired of everyone shtting on Barzal.. the guy is drawing triple teams and feeds it to Eberle or Leo and nothing happens. Brutal.. . - niteislander
Apprently I am going to need to talk sht about Palmieri before every game and say I need more from Casey too...
Leddy and Eberle still stink by the way.

I know many will say the Leafs only had to give up money for JT but it's not just money in a Cap world and the Leafs already had a star 1C in Matthews. I think that JT money could have been spend elsewhere on defense and players that play a gritty game. That team is just not built well. |

We were noticing this in game one as well. the Isles at one point last night were being outshot like 7-3. Watched them rattle a few shots off and they actually SUBTRACTED a shot. |

Winner of this series will play Tampa. I dont see the Hurricanes beating them. Do the Islanders or Bruins have any chance of beating them. |

Probably not. The islanders and Bruins should forfeit now. |

It won’t. They’re always Stanley Cup contenders and better then us which is expected because we suck of course. |

They’re not built for the playoffs. They have a ton of skill, no tenacity.
I hate to say it because I hated that team with a passion but you need guys like Tucker, Roberts and Domi on a playoff team. That’s why Lou gets guys like Martin and Komarov.
The weird thing is, their defense and goalie which I wouldn’t consider great at all, wasn’t the issue, their stars just failed. And, they all want to dump Marner now. Who’s giving up the assets and who has the cap space? |

That 11 million per salary is going to prohibit most teams. It would have to be a Detroit or a team along those lines which narrows it for them. |

You need grit for sure and that's not to say you do not need skill but the skill players cannot play soft like the Leafs players. You do not have to fight be you need to be willing to go to the dirty areas and take hits to make a play. I think JT is not a good Captain and does not have the right temperament for the Leafs. Marner has been a huge disappointment. Cannot have Matthews and Marner scoring one goal. I do not care if you are playing the trap Devils back in the day. |

Truth be told, it's Tavares that I think may end up being the contractual albatross. $11m for a sub ppg player north of 30 and already is a subpar skater is going to look worse and worse. |

Just wanted to say big win if they blew that game last night series was over. I'm probably going to get banned for my post in the Leafs blog so Let's Go Islanders!!! |

Leafs have 5 more years with the Tavares contract. He is damaged goods. Has had 2 or 3 concussions and 2 or 3 knee issues. |
