I thought it was enough. Turns out he wasn't the warrior Dubas thought he was getting. I personally think he's injured.

Anyway, thus reminds me of Washington never going anywhere for years but we shall see.

I wouldn't be surprised if they come back with the same core one more time. No Andersen and maybe no Rielly though.

- Aaron_85

I think I read/heard he had a lingering issue when he came from Columbus. Do you have to disclose all that when your being traded? Because I don’t think he was ever 100 percent since the day he came.

oh right, thanks for reminding me we lost one of our best plays 10 mins into the series

A key part of the leafs always goes down in the playoffs.

Kadri suspended all the time
Muzzin twice
Tavares

Move out marner.
He has 7 playoff penalties, 6 of which are over the glass, that says to me, hes scared and doesn't make good decisions when pressured.
40million tied up in 4 players hasn't worked, every told leafs fans it wouldnt. They seem to be right.

Its Dubas job to know that.
I said he overpaid at the time, and it only looks worse now.

change the core, go for it. but it wont matter
- senstroll

I don't know how you can make core changes in a hard cap era. There are very few teams able to absorb a $10m cap hit unless you are taking back equivalent dollars.

if im mathing correct, once they pay his s.bonus in July, he will be owed 25 mil for the last 4 seasons.

so 6ish mil with 10.9 cap

I'm sure medical are done by teams or looked over records prior to completion of a trade.

Regardless, all the types of guys everyone went nuts to bring in didnt show up. People here were buts for Simmonds when me and some others thought he was done. He showed us wrong until injury but man, it just didn't work.

Yeah, you can’t pay a 1st for an injured rental.

I said the same thing, what an awful trade. He wasnt worth a first when healthy, and not being healthy at all was even worse. Brutal trade.

not easy, but not impossible to find a partner.

I just mean, doesnt matter who you bring in, nobody can get it done in Toronto.
whatever it is, immense pressure, magic, curses.

non of it will matter..something will go wrong

i was skeptical on the Foligno trade, but man it was way worse than I expected.

he did nothing.

If he resigns, the 1st won’t sting so much

They shouldnt have needed them to get past an awful Habs team. That team is bad. If Marner/Matthews show up its an easy series, but they choked.

Honestly though, Keefe was an idiot. They clearly werent working in the playoffs, and instead of making adjustments he did nothing, what an awful coaching display.

You know he isnt resigning. He's going right back to Columbus. I still cant believe Dubas traded a 3rd for Rittich, you cant be serious. Ive been a Dubas supporter for the most part, but god awful deadline trades.

There are a lot of teams who would take him in a heart beat. NYR, Buffalo, etc etc. Wouldnt be difficult to trade him at all. Should they, I doubt it.

Rittich was insurance. Both Andersen and Campbell have had injury issues this year. That trade doesn't bother me.

Nash and Hutton were had for low round picks. Not a big deal.

A first rounder is supposed to bring back a game changer. Foligno was anything but.

It is weird to me that the leafs are 0 and 7 in games 7 since like 2013.

Different team. Different management. Different coach. Different players. Same results. Its kinda nutty.

What do you mean? I read an article that said JT’s injury provided extra motivation for players like AM and MM to win the series. Game two’s win was dedicated to JT. I dont think you can underestimate that kind of emotional lift.

After some reflection I think there’s a couple truths that need to be looked at.

Getting an assistant that can be a foil to Keefe and crack the whip.

Find a way, in the playoffs, esp to get a full 60 minute effort. I don’t think any of us would have a problem losing a series if a full & total effort was given, losses happen. It’s the haphazard way of starting slow and not correcting it game after game that makes us nuts.

Trade some offensive flair, for wall and net front guys in their prime.

thats what I mean, i wont matter.

have no idea since I am just a fan a million miles away..but is it just the pressure they are under? as the years go on and it just builds more and more...players just cant deal with it..no matter who they are.

i have no idea..because everyone picked to leafs to sail through this series...it wasnt much of a question. and again...thud
