Curses can be broken.
Roy and Tremblay "made up" before game 5 of the series.
Some are saying the "Casseau's curse" is now broken.

Marner was bad. This is true.
What is also true is that our 11.5 million Rocket Richard winner scored 1 goal and managed 2 shots on net in the deciding game. He was badly outscored by a guy who lost his centerman. He was outscored by a 37 year-old 4th liner making at or near the league minimum. He was outscored by a defenseman. These are facts. They both sucked. The big guns on every other playoff team showed up. Ours didn't. That is the one and only reason the Leafs lost, Marner AND Matthews. |

Hall was the tap in...he was dirt cheap
a 1st gets it done. does it make a diff? hard to say
but I cant see how he is not better than Foligno...and what they needed in case of a skill player injury
before we hear about how he only wanted to go to Boston. there are many reports (and Bob Mac said the same) he was an option for the Leafs - senstroll
Ya anyone saying he only wanted to go Boston is simply wrong and lying to themselves. |

Price didn’t win them the series.
The Leafs lost it with there lethargic play and unwillingness to play playoff style hockey. - Hockey_Reverend
I disrespectfully disagree, without Price, Leafs are moving to the 2nd round. |

dont resign Jumbo Joe, Simmonds
Kerfoot, Muzzin, Galchenyuk, Spezza maybes - but rather see them all go / traded away as well.
6new FW, 3new Dmen, and a 1A goalie.

Leafs probably win game 6 OT if Price isn't in net.
But he was - so we lose. - Leafs43
Price played good. But come on, where you watching that game last night? How many shots did Toronto have after 2 periods? How many where floaters from the blue line without any traffic?
The difference in the series was not goaltending. The difference was 2 ridiculous errors in overtime and the Leafs completely not showing up for 3 games in a row...

We love the notion of having the "heart" of a champion.
I believe the Leafs were far and away the better and more skilled team. Regular season is about skill and show. Playoffs are about will and grit. Champions are defined by character. Success depends on a leadership that is battle ready.
Matthews and Marner were a combined minus 11 over the series. How do you fix that? |

only other thing is nobody can deal with the immense pressure thats on the Leafs players to ...do something. cant hide from it today.

Did you even read my post?
I referenced a very specific part of the series. One where the Leafs had multiple great chances to score and move on - Price stopped them all. The series doesn't get to game 7 without Price in net during game 6 OT.

Price played great.
But he didnt win you the series, he made some great saves, but hes not the reason you won (he's part of it of course)
But the leafs only showing up to play for a couple of minutes in game 5, 6 and 7 are the reasons the habs won.
For all the hype of a montreal vs leafs playoff series, outside of the leafs choking, it was very boring and slow hockey. |

Well I thought it was pretty exciting.
I must say though, I expected both teams to hate each other more.
We didn't see alot of fights or things getting out of hand.
I get both teams were trying to be disciplined but..... usually there's more.... I don't know.... passion?
I expect something different vs Winnipeg.

you get too riled up over trolls and max.
Neither are going away and will only get worse now that it is confirmed that the leafs are the biggest chokers in sports. ...well besides the NFL jets apparently.

Ya anyone saying he only wanted to go Boston is simply wrong and lying to themselves. - Fakepartofme
I wish I cared enough to find one of the articles explaining why he forced the Boston issue, because it made sense. It was about him not wanting to go anywhere as a rental, he knew he had no option to resign in Toronto. He had played for 3 teams in a year, wanted to go somewhere he could work out a longterm deal and Boston fit the bill on every level.
Perhaps it's hogwash, but full disclosure... Who (frank)ing cares.
Are we really going to sit here and act like Taylor Hall is the one thing that is the difference between Cup and the poop we sat through the last week? This team is the definition of broken from the core out and a career loser like Hall is not the difference between that mess and hoisting a cup. |

I assume you are kidding but it is laughable that Habs fans think their team is so good. You guys realize that beating the Leafs is much more a comment on the lack of heart on the Leafs, than it is on how great your team is. |

first never combine plus minus stats..its dumb. they play together..
1 goal against is not -2
at 5v5, AM and Marner on the ice the goals were 3-1
not sure what you need to fix, except score more goals in 7 games

All year long people on here were laughing at the Price contract saying he was done
Irony - mr.sir
Price was good, but I don't feel like he stole the series. Last night was the perfect example of this. I don't think he really had to work that hard. Montreal pushed the Leafs players to the outside, and they kept trying to make the cute "perfect" play, which wasn't there to make. |
