Broberg
Edmonton first 2021
Kassian
Conditional second 2022 if resigns.
Jones to Edmonton although I put his cap hit at 9 at the most in a flat cap world and wouldn't want him on the team for more. - Aerchon
HOLY MOTHERF....R! Not a chance!!! Broberg could possibly be better actually. |

Anybody from the Sharks that doesn't have a NMC , Oh wait that's most of the team thanks to Douglas Wilson. For Jones - Sharks77
Actually, the only ones with full NMC are Karlsson and Vlasic...Jones, Burns, Hertl, Kane, and Couture have Modified No Trades which they could waive. However, they only have $11mm+ in Cap Space for next season and they need to save space for Hertl's contract the year after that (as well as Ferraro and Knyzhov) so they won't be able to take him..at least pending what the Kraken do as far as the Expansion Draft... |

Aren't yall go terminate Kanes deal and sign him to a new lower one to help him with debt collectors? |

As far as the Oilers go the, $$ certainly make sense, but even with 2 of the best players on the planet, Edmonton isn't a huge draw for the top UFA's. IF they traded for him, one would factor him being a "one and done" kind of addition, similar to Barrie (or dare I say Pronger, who demanded out after 1 season oh so long ago). Caleb Jones is there, but he seems to have fallen out of favor with Tippett, so not sure the team will get his glowing endorsement to entice big brother to stick around! - Quillanrocks
Possibly, but Pronger left because his wife demanded it ..due to his off ice behavior so the story is told...Klefbom comes back next year so at least you have a bargaining chip to work with but the weakness in goal with Smith eventually becoming too old to play there and no real successor in the wings would give me pause if I were Seth

I don’t think Calgary should be buyers as we are likely heading for a retool/rebuild but I think I could agree to this as long as the pick is this years. - RedC21
Sutter being there there and how young most our group is there will be no rebuild, but Getting Jones and domi for Monaghan, anderson, Patterson and a 1st would be a retool. |

Um, Columbus would take that for sure, especially because Seth Jones is a UFA in just a few weeks. - ShallowLarynx

For the Sharks to get Jones & sign him, Columbus would want someone or 2 in return, So it may start with Burns who I believe will be 34 next year & fill in the other player.

So the oilers get the two best players by far? Columbus laughs and hangs up. |

I like the concept of Jones for Marner straight up. Maybe CBJ can keep some of Jones's salary so the Leafs can use the savings to sign Mike Hoffman to a 1-year contract. If Jones works out, sign him to a new contract. If it doesn't, the Leafs free up cap space and reset once again.
As a Devils fan, I'd like to see the Devils attempt to trade for Jones (with the stipulation of a 7-year, $9 mil per contract. I'm just being realistic with the contract). Devils 2021 1st-round pick, Boqvist, and Mukhamadullin for Jones and a new contract. CBJ can try to flip the two 1st-round picks (and probably more) for Eichel.
Reilly Walsh is probably the only RD who's closest to make the big club. And he's probably not making the team until 2-years from now when PK is a UFA and he could be gone. What's the team left with, Severson, Walsh, and a UFA? Jones can fill that void so the team is running Jones, Severson, and Walsh on the right side.
As for LD, the team has Smith, Butcher, Siegenthaler, Bahl, Okhotiuk, and the possibility of signing Murray to a contract. And I'm not even including the 2021 1st-round pick, most likely one of Powers, Hughes, Edvisson, or Clarke.
Why add another LD that'll take 5-years to develop when the team can trade for an RD that's Top-4 talent who's under 30? Maybe hesitate if the Devils win the 1st pick overall, but if the team falls down to the 6th pick, include it in a trade for Jones.

Lets go big..........Jones and Laine to Philly for Myers, Patrck, Voracek, TK and our First. Money works, CBJ gets players and rights to players with length Philly gets the 2 best players on the trade. |

I could see Seth Jones being the domino that moves a lot of people.
Columbus trades Jones to Philly for JVR + Ghost.
They flip JVR + Ghost to Toronto for Nylander. Now JVR is back home in Toronto where it all began.
Nylander gets flipped to Calgary for Gaudreau. Now Nylander is back in Calgary where he was born.
Gaudreau gets flipped to Jersey so he goes home.
Meanwhile, Malkin gets moved to Vegas to be the man. MAF comes home to Pittsburgh.
Pacioretty is threatened by Malkin so he gets moved for Barzal. Barzal lands in Vegas but as is widely known, he dreams only of playing in LA.
So Vegas flips Barzal to LA for Doughty. Doughty tells Malkin he's the only man in town so Vegas is set.
Some of this sounds far-fetched, so most of these moves are only at an E3. But it's possible kids. Another option is to just offer Columbus JVR + Ghost + the hockeybuzz mask. That could get it done. |

I agree that sutter doesn’t want to rebuild but in my opinion we’re just delaying the inevitable and when sutter’s time is up we’ll be left asking ourselves the same questions.
Like I said not a bad deal but if we’re moving core pieces picks/prospects should be coming back and we can fill in the holes through free agency if we still want to compete |

This could work, just don't see the extended part happening. Might also want a little something else back from Columbus. Jets giving up 2 top prospects and a first . . . ouch. Though I suppose they're taking back a hefty contract . . . |

Hey Ek. What do you think about the vezina finalists.
I mean you had MAF being traded because he wasn’t good enough and Vegas got Lehner. You also said Grubauer wasn’t good enough for the Avs. Weird that they are now both up for goalie of the year.
