Vancouver wants Jones!
Horvat, Ericsson, Schmidt for Jones (with assurances to extend) Domi
Nucks clear enough cap to sign Pettersson and Hughes, CBJ gets thier #1 C and an able D-man that is under contract for 4 more yrs. to replace Jones
The roadblock might be Nate's M-NTC

Colorado has arguably the BEST team In the league, They'd be silly to get Involved In the Jones sweepstakes, Colorado has an amazingly talented young blueline. |

This could work, just don't see the extended part happening. Might also want a little something else back from Columbus. Jets giving up 2 top prospects and a first . . . ouch. Though I suppose they're taking back a hefty contract . . . - Quillanrocks
I agree, I doubt he's extended in Winnipeg. My position here is the Winnipeg Jets are in a Win now window. Our top guns have 3-4 years on their contract. Heinola will be a stud and Perfetti is showing signs of being a star in the nhl. However, neither player makes and impact over the next year or two that I would see Jones providing to the team. Its a huge payment for the jets but seems to work well for both teams. |

Well someone needs to explain to me how the Columbus GM still has a job. How the heck is that possible..
Nobody wants to play there and he loves to retain players and have them leave for fa.
He could have rebuilt his franchise if he only liquidated when he should have. - Joe Nardone
If he lad liquidated they wouldn’t have made the playoffs. He gave the fans a playoff run and that’s what they wanted. |

As any deal between Jets and Columbus would likely be without an extension in place, I would take Heinola out of it and insert Niku. He hasn't worked out in Winnipeg but is still a young, skilled puckmover who might have appeal and even thrive in Columbus system (?) I'd also keep Little (just bury his contract in LTIR, sadly--horrible injury), throw in another prospect (Ohio born Harkins, maybe?) and make the 1st Rounder conditional to an extension. (It's only a 2nd Rounder if he doesn't sign.) I seriously doubt that that gets it done, but I really struggle parting with so much for what could be just one season of Seth Jones. He's good, but not THAT good. Thoughts??

Any trade with the Jets is gonna be Perfetti or bust, aside from your top 6 you guys don't really have anything of potential interest to us |
