I still can’t believe that hit. He was out before he hit the ice. Scheifele never stopped skating, just plowed into him and raised his arms. If the Union or Parros defends that in any way…smh

TBH as Evans was skating by himself to the loose puck, the first thing I thought was don’t do it. As he circled the net I had a feeling he was gonna get blasted. No justifying the ferocity of the hit but he opened himself up to that. Again, I am in no way defending Scheifle but you have to be aware of what might happen. Honestly I was hoping he stopped behind the net to protect himself. Really hope Evans is ok.

I’m not saying he tried to play the puck (although you don’t have to when body checking someone) or just trying to stop the goal from being scored. It was definitely a charging penalty based on distance travelled, but he had to cover distance because of how the play developed. He could have let up, but didn’t. I think was mostly shoulder, but obviously caught his head, although not sure that was his intent. I’m guessing he’ll be suspended, but who know w Soros. Is Scheifle known as a dirty player?

That was the worst hit I have seen in my hockey fandom. He needs to be out rest of the playoffs and start of next season. That was intent to injure

I know you don’t “have” to play the puck but I think that has to be taken into consideration here. It’s definitely charging and he definitely raises his right elbow up as the hit is being delivered (where he’s aiming, ie head, shoulder, chest, is objective). I’d like to see the rest of the series but knowing the league (and yes, the fact Scheifele’s record is relatively clean) he’ll get 2 games which is what Reaves got.
