I'm sure we'll lose the lottery tonight, but is there even a consensus first overall ? This time around, it doesn't matter (to me) if we lose this lottery. Also, pretty sick of being in the lottery every damn year.

No true consensus. I also thought it was pretty wild that Matthew Zator sees Power as a forward potentially. There's a lot going on here

Nice Read Hank, thanks for the info. Not that I would hate Power him and Dahlin could make a solid 1-2 punch at LD unless they switch Dahlin to RD, but don't really want Dahlin to switch yet, still having somewhat of a tough go at LD. I would like a forward at the top, looking forward to your Eklund blog.

Berniers or bust for me. Best two way forward in the draft imo. Also, anyone find it odd how little teams trade up or down in the NHL during the draft?

Like i said power is going to be myers how he was supposed to be before things got into his head.

Hes an exciting prospect to watch and grow.

But my guy will always be beniers i want Toews 2.0

Better odds we don't. I just want the circus to end. I really just want to be relevant again and not the joke of the NHL.

Im just so over all of this

That's cool, would have no problem with Bernier, just think we are looking at a Eichel trade too.

I am all aboard the Beniers train

Cozens and him up the middle when they move Eichel

However Powers is going to be very good as well

If you want Beniers, I want Beniers. Nobody puts in the time and research that you do and you are right on players more than you're wrong. Is there a Plymouth Whalers Tom Wilson in this draft? Get him too.

i'm kinda surprised...it seems like eklund offers the sabres more in terms of a dynamic style of play along with much more upside than bernier

Things I don't like about Powers are his skating and that he plays like a 6 foot offensive defenseman.

Much less conviction than in years past because I didn’t follow the prospects from beginning to end. But my rankings would look like this

Player name (Stylistic comp)

1) Eklund (Ehlers or Willy Nylander)
2) Beniers (Nico Hischier)
3) Power (Mattias Ekholm)
4) Guenther (Dylan Cozens)
5) Clarke (Matt Dumba)
6) Hughes (Jakob “Chioqrin”)
7) McTavish (Sean Monahan)
8) Johnson ( Johnathen Drouin)
9) Lysell ( Kasperi Kapanen)
10) Wallstedt (insert good goalie name here)

That's why I like Eklund, especially if Jack is traded, we should be getting a good C back in that trade. Think Eklund would fill are needs a little.

Interesting story going around, sounds like Spencer Brown has been training the last few seasons with Joe Staley. Not a bad guy to learn and train with.

Do you see the Sabres trading the pick at all for young NHL players who can help now and for the future?

Wonder if Adams should take a swing at Nikita Boyarkin G, looked pretty solid at the Worlds.

If there is any draft to do it, it would be this one.

Depends on the player though
