I think what most people fear is pumping his numbers on the PP will lead to a very hefty pay raise next year - sbroads24
That's a fair consideration. Just score goals. Add some excitement to this franchise.
After watching the playoffs, I'd be concerned with olos size and ability to take a beating. Its violent and he's passive. |

if Jack and Reinhart stay, Power is the obvious pick IMO
If Jack is gone, probably Beniers - homiedclown
Think it depends on what comes back in that Eichel trade. |

He’s a fine compliment to a solid core.
I don’t think he’s a core piece |

I'd like to see him with casey and asplund in a perfect world for second line if rebuilding this fall
asplund IMO is under rated for his defensive play and he has chemistry with olofsson
who knows what to expect this summer right now - homiedclown
I'm excited for the atm line. They could plug in as a solid #2B or 3A line.
Add in olo and that's 4 of 6 middle six.
Jack should bring back a young 1st liner and at least another nhl ready middle 6.
Bring back Larsson and role out the LOG line again. ☝️
Baller - I'm talking larry hockey on the 4th line |

Connor Sheary of the Penguins/Capitals. Not the Sabres version that was mostly misused for the most part - Pegullaville
Yep, I knew what you meant.
Ride shotgun with a superstar.
Stars aren't always easy to play with. That's what I like about olofsson. Fit with jack. |

I would have expected 18 sabres to say that on November 12, 2011
but none did - homiedclown
Didn't expect to even wait that long, still 2 periods of hockey left in that game. |

This is pretty fair. 🤝
I see upside and feel like his nhl curve may have started later considering his slow grooming.
Optimistic approach
His complete lack of grit isnt going to suddenly change. Theres room for more even strength points IMO |

The only thing with Olofsson is he is 26 in July.
So idk how much of a ceiling remains however maybe in a more uptempo system we see better results ?
I like the player though. Slot him next to Cozens on the 2A line and have Mitts’ line as the 2B line.
If Eichel and Reinhart are both sent packing though they have to definitely get 2 pieces back that can play on a proverbial “top line”.
Maybe Sabres can roll 3 “2nd line” quality lines.

That should get him some time off for sure. That was a crappy freight training of a defenseless player - hehateme
It’s a clean hit though. Evans shouldn’t of put himself in that position. |

I thought that at first too because the hit isn't really high or late. Then I considered how far he came and how much speed he had. They called it a charge and I think it's the right call.

No player we get back will be Eichel or even close to the player he is.
Bernier isn’t that guy anyways |

Who said he would, it's the sum of the pieces you get back in the Eichel trade that hopefully makes up for Eichel. And then you go into the draft with a better idea of your needs, and that player could be Power or Eklund and so forth. |

👊
Byfield, hughes, petterson, laferierre makes that part of a 2B line for sure.
Not eichel ,but more team oriented. Add a middle 6 guy to fit the atm/ olo and a 1st rounder.... |

The league probably should suspend him for 5 games.
Make sure "it" isn't part of the game. That was a huge charge, but square and textbook. Elbows down and looked like chest as the point of contact.
It's the nhl, just a fine IMO

Guessing it's a first offense for him, not sure. Probably a game or two. Always tough to guess how they see things. The fact that the game was essentially over, so there was no real penalty seems to matter sometimes.

If you think 1-10 is just a crapshoot, fair enough. MacTavish or others could certainly be #1 in some redraft. But it's all percentages or chances. Don't want a better chance for a rival. We'll see how it goes, I expect 3rd. - RhinoFan
Well, we got 1st
So we’ll get who we want
If possible, I’d trade down
But that doesn’t happen much in hockey,
so I’ll be fine with whoever we take |

If we are trading Jack & Sam,
then we might as well trade Olofsson too
Go “full rebuild” and pick high the next 2 seasons,
hopefully winning the lottos |

The real hope to “replace” Eichel would come in the ‘22 or ‘23 draft
We can still get solid pieces to have good depth behind the new “core” though by making some good trades this offseason |

Draft Beniers - that motor is relentless- intangible this organization desperately lacks.
Shanahan nailed it when he said Toronto’s roster lacks killer instinct, the Sabres (Oilers/Devils/etc) are in that same boat.
Adams needs to build this roster off of the youth that showed passion and skill which made the final games actually more entertaining than the past few seasons.
Move on from 9, 55, 33, 20, 28, 23
Rebuild, good luck getting rid of Skinner or Okposo

Good luck moving every player you named. This isn’t a video game
The most realistic move is moving Colin Miller

If they're rebuilding, there's no point in moving Okposo or Skinner, anyway, if it costs you assets to do it (as some have suggested). You won't be good again for another 5 GD years, so what's the point? |
