From the Athletic/Pronman mock draft I posted the top 15 of, they reached out to a number of scouts who said they'd be surprised if it went like that and no goalies were taken in the top 15.
I think a lot of teams are going to go for need at this point as the top guys aren't as locked in and projections are a mess.
Could very well be a guy or two falls to the Canucks again. - NewYorkNuck
I’m pretty sure you’re correct 👍 |

Not liking it but a big good defensive RHD are needed.
Don’t mind smaller D but it doesn’t fill our current needs. BPA isn’t a bad way to go. |

I have a lot of respect for Brooks_Light reports on the Comets this year. One thing he said earlier this year was Woo was starting to find his way. He played pretty well with Rathbone this year . The stuff I got to see this year Woo is starting to get close to having a look with the Canucks . There will be mistakes but that's how you learn.
I also agree with Mini's comment from today about Chatfield. Watching him for years now he gets better with experience . I would like to see him back and put up with his mistakes longer as he gets better.

Going into this draft...
I’d focus in BPA 1st pick whomever da feck that is lol. Hope that is a C.
RHD after that. Speed/skating a must for any F picked. If good skill sets & skating can be fixed that’s fine if good size & good puck possession. Eg Bo like.
Gads needs to keep improving his skating. Aidan McDonaugh could be a pleasant surprise if he gets his game better for the AHL & can excel there. |

I didn’t say Nighthawk was super cute, we were talking Olivia Newton John in her day. Nobody rocked the headband better than Olivia, well except for Mike Reno…

Quinn Hughes has 97 points (129 games) in his two years in the NHL, he can certainly play offensively, but, he’s -34 over that time. 6’3” RHD Noah Dobson only has 21 points (80 games) in his two seasons but he’s even on plus minus, which can be a skewed stat.
Still not sure who got the better “all around” defenseman?

I’m good with Woo’s development. Give him another 1-2yrs in Abby.
He’s a good fit for need once he hits the scene. |

On another note Viktor Persson is joining the Blazers.
Close to home & see how he does with someone here in Kamloops updating his progress.
Should be a good opportunity for him to grow & see if a 7th round steal. Big RHD so here is to hoping 👍 - Nighthawk
I might have to catch a game or two if they open it up |

Playing for NYI deep at D & Trotz has a lot to do with that. Hughes is unique with his rover style but it needs a top defender to play with him. Dobson better rounded without the high end offence dynamics. |

Generally yes. I’d lean towards righties on D if close. Never can have enough RHD prospects especially if they pan out to any degree. Good trade chips once we are ready to contend or sustain yearly improvement. That being the D has finally gotten good. |

The biggest & weirdest challenge is hockey is an oddity in that Lefties dominate the numbers in the league in everywhere but in goal. There is simply a lack of righties to go around that has been historic on D. |

I'll respect him more once he learns how to properly defend a 2 on 1.
I think another year down with Woo. I like his game. He's just learning how to pick his spots with the physical part. That takes a while to master at the speed of the NHL. Love the way he's always there to stick up for his teammates without taking stupid penalties or fighting pointless scraps. |
