Sure, me too.
I'd like it if he wasn't picked first overall, though.
A Hecht is a guy you get in the second or third rounds. - Powerslave
If we selected Beniers 1st overall and he was a carbon-copy of Jochen Hecht right out of the gates - A 20-goal, 50-point guy who is good at faceoffs, physical along the wall, has a knack for scoring timely short-handed goals from behind the goal line, and is as defensively sound as a Forward can be, I wouldn't mind one bit. Just like how I don't care that Reinhart was a 2nd overall and is basically exactly that except not as physical, which, he doesn't need to be because he's probably the most consistent player in the NHL and the fact that we managed to also (frank) up and ruin our relationship with him is beyond forgiveness - It's an actual crime against the fans if he doesn't sign here long-term.
People forget how effective chokin' was. He wasn't afraid of the rough stuff either
- Hank Balling
I remember that game where he rattled Lecavlier's cage, I don't think I stopped smiling for a week because we also played them again a few days later and Vinny had the most purple shiner of all-time.

Except Hecht wasn't really a 20 goal/50 point guy, except a year or two. More like 15 goals/35 points. You would really need more from a 1st overall.
Hopefully you get a better result than 13-1 Astros lol. Not that I really cared. I got to see a major league grandslam at Sahlen Field which was pretty damn cool

I have his career numbers ate .56 .ppg, which would pace him at 45 points over an 82-game schedule annually.
So 18 goals and 45 points. Yeah pretty much 20 goals and 50 points.

Well he was a LW and still went 40% on the dot. I wouldn't call that terrible. He was in the Selke voting 3 times in his career. He was the quintessential defensive-forward.
