This may sound cold, but I’ve avoided doing a write up on too much. I’ve mentioned the Czechs, Stecher and Seider, but i just didn’t enjoy the tournament itself too much. Abdelkader was knocked out early, and I swear I read a release saying that this could “interfere with his NHL return”. The few times I met Abby, he was a really nice guy. I felt like he probably could have followed Howard’s lead and retired. Jimmy was smart about it. He’s got the kids, he had a career of it, time to do that dad thing. Please don’t think this sounds too cold, but that knee isn’t the roadblock back to the NHL. It’s time to hang ‘em up and play in the alumni games. The playoffs are so fast and fierce that the Worlds just felt like watching slo-mo hockey - Jeremy Laura I don't think he will give up the buy-out money.

Interesting:
No team with a $10m player has ever won a playoff round until Montreal did it this year with Cary Price. Guess we have to keep our super stars under $10M.... |

Would the Wings have any interest in and a protection spot for Andrew Copp? |

I’m still as you put it swing for the fences, give 1st round #26 to Columbus for Werenski (plus sweetener) That gives Columbus 3 first rounders and the back to back picks 25 & 26.
Columbus may be able to move the 26th pick to their advantage? - Tee56
If we trade our #26 for Werenski...maybe we can trade #6 for McDavid? Sigh. |

OK what do you pay for Werenski? Don’t say he wouldn’t help this team. |

I don't think he get's past the Sabres. I really don't know if we will take Power. D is the one position we have a lot of coming through are system. |

As for Power, it would probably be prohibitively expensive for the Wings to trade up to #1 OA to snag him. Maybe they trade up to grab Hughes or Edvinsson instead, of course Stevie should just wait and see if one of them just falls to #6 OA. |

I agree, think Edvinsson will be there at 6 anyways. |

If you want Werenski, then #6 overall is just a starting point. Add from there. Or an established young player. You want to trade Larkin for Werenski? Columbus might listen to that. Offers of Bertuzzi, Hronek, etc... will get you laughed at. So to keep this very simple...your offer must include either #6, Larkin, Seider...one of those 3, and then potentially add more depending on which asset. |
