Aside from some Injury Issues Bergeron Is a coach and fans dream, One of the 3 zone greats, First ballot HOFer. I'm not a Bruins fan but I have been following the NHL for 50 years and this guy Is as flawless as It gets on the Ice. |

No. Sergei Fedorev, and its not even close.
Guy could have been a Norris winner, and was a 100 Point scorer. |

I know this is going way off the board, but I think if Sorokin switched to forward he would be the best ever.
For a true story...Mike Vernon played forward in my men's league a few years ago and was pretty good. |

The question in this article should really be who is the best TWO-WAY forward of all time, which is the kind of players the Selke truly is awarded to most seasons. They (typically) award this trophy to players who have decent (even GREAT) offensive numbers, as well. Take Kris Draper for example. He won the Selke just once in his 21 year career, and it just so happened to be the very same (and ONLY) season where he scored over 20 goals. Does that mean Draper's defensive excellence was less than spectacular every other year? Probably not, but when paired with some solid offense, it then became worthy of an award.
Is Bergeron the best TWO WAY forward of all time? Who's really to say, but no one will argue he should definitely be in the conversation. |

As someone already mentioned the Selke award has become an award for the two way player, not just the best defensive forward. Even as a habs fan I have always thought Bergeron to be one of the most complete player in my era (last 50 years). If I wasn't old enough to have seen Gainey play I'd probably answer yes but Gainey was the best ever. I wouldn't be surprised if one day this trophy or some similar one is named after him. |

5th all time in points. Two cups, one selke, three lady byng, four time all star.
Yeah. Overrated.

Let’s be honest. He’s a good player. But if it weren’t for him playing in Boston and the need to find some bone to throw the team cause of jacobs he wouldn’t sniff the selke. |

Everytime i see a comment from Feds91Stammer my head hurts. Seriously do you not have anything better to do than troll comments on here. Or are you seriously that stupid? We come here for decent, informed, reasonable debates, and you feel the need to add your crap. Yes there's those with the sarcastic post, but know how to carry themselves in doing that. I absolutely love every comment Kooleus ever makes. You though are either a troll, or seriously are in need of professional help. Your spare parts bud. |
