what does a "good hockey man" even mean. What makes him a good hockey man. This saying is stupid.

How do you know he is?

Most media who deal with him face to face say that Jim's a good hockey man and a good person

Answer a question with a question? Tell me how you know Benning isn't a liar?

He has years of experience as a player, scout and in management. He's been involved with hockey during his entire life and understands what it takes to win on and off the ice. He's well respected in the hockey community and is well connected.

I have no evidence that tell me that he is a lair. So why would I assume that he is?

Including lying.

There have been two times (David Booth and Pearson) where JB has stated to the media "we've contacted their agents" about getting them resigned, and both agents (and Booth in an interview recently) came out and said, "No, he has not."

You’re right, the CHL is no place for anyone who’s been drafted by an NHL team.

hmm is the learning disability kicking in or did you lose sight that the call was made to expose them to a higher level? They needed the AHL.

Too bad the Canucks didn't have a relationship with a Euro team. They did do so with OJ later. But the Salo/Finn connection was unique. Just like those tweeners not ready for NHL but beyond jr learning.

Seems since JB scouting favors more college and Euro picks to avoid this jr block to AHL development problem.

Communications methods aren't 100% reliable sometimes, who knows if maybe the agent just failed to receive Jim's attempted communication? The Pearson deal did get worked out after all.

That's true. I mean, what is reality? If we're living in a post-truth world, does lying even exist? Every fact is an alternative fact, therefore no facts are facts and communication methods are open to interpretation. If you view time in a non-linear fashion, JB told the truth from the past into the future, and the rebuild is already complete because in the future (which is an unyielding constant) is already there.

Man, you and JB are just so philosophical.

Going back to junior after your draft or draft +1 year does not have any correlation with picking up "bad habits" from playing lesser competition. They set a draft eligible age for a reason, and the same goes with the CHL age group. Saying otherwise is silly.
- Codes1087

Like thinking all development is the same? Guess reason of CHL greed/protectionist measures to keep star players with them and not AHL club controlled development is cool for you.

Good on the PK, good at face-offs, sound defensively, decent on the forecheck, one of Green's top Pk'ers. Leader in the locker room according to management/coaches.

CHL Greed????

this isn't about greed, this is about development, this is about safety for the kids. These are still kids. Throwing a kid to the wolves and playing him in the AHL immediately out of his draft eligible year has nothing to do with Greed, it has everything to do with safety and development. Its the same reason it goes Initiation, Novice, Atom, Pee Wee, Bantom, Midget.... Its to keep kids developing within their age groups. The CHL is capped at 18/19 for a reason. If a kid goes back, its not a slight at him at all, very few kids make the NHL right out of being drafted. It has nothing to do with Greed....

you must have missed the initial 'learn to read' infraction. But great job picking up the retaliation retort. I guess my angle required a talking down.

I said learn to read. I suppose I should have said learn to interpret.
