you never answered my questions about his tenure as Canucks GM and still being a "good hockey man"

and..

Beagle has a cup, he must be a good hockey player

He is. Neither making the NHL nor winning the Cup is easy.

That's pretty lame. He brought in two of our top 4D, our 3rd and 4th line C's, a top 6 wing among other things.
- golfingsince

Hamhuis was only willing to be a Canucks a UFA. Gillis gets no credit there. Other then that, if he couldn't do at least that much he would be a bigger failure.

Bit premature still but best deadline deal? Hall for a 2nd or Palmieri for a 1st?

Yes yes, there’s other stuff involved

Never said they were. Beagle isn't a good NHL player though, and his "intangibles" are neither good enough for his 3 million aav, or good enough to be a 4th line center on our bad team.

So you admit that Brendan Gaunce and Nic Dowd are both good hockey players then (having made the NHL)?

Battle injuries have done him in. He's even less worthy now of his contract. He might be ripe to LTIR retire.

He was never worth his contract. He cashed in after averging sub 7 minutes a night and winning a ring. I'm happy for him, just like I'm happy for LE cashing in on 36 million after padding his stats and playing with Marchand and Bergeron for a season lol. I never fault the player for cashing in.

What if I said tyler graovac for example, his production, cap hit, advanced or eye tests.

The rebuttle would still be the same.. he doesn't have a ring, he doesn't provide leadership, he isn't on the first unit PK, and he doesn't provide nice hugs

Sopel was a dman anyway..

Don't you lecture me on Sopes!
I'd take Graovac all day over Beagle next season personally.
I like his size, hands and price point.

beagle was a decent Faceoff/PK shut down specialist.
he's washed now.

What I'm saying is he's a good hockey player. Then provided examples why.

I'll go further. Bad hockey players wash out of the lower leagues quickly. Good ones earn their way to at least one decent contract.
