Plenty of top Cs perform well into their 30s, I don't expect Bo to slow down at 29 - NorthNuck
Neither, and I wasn't inferring that he would slow down.
But.
If someone supplants him as a 1C/2C...then he bumps down to 3C....
win/win.

Did I say anything about rushing a player?
If a player is ready to go out of training camp, do you send them back to Juniors, because the team looks desperate for inserting a top draft pick into lineup? - Reubenkincade
No, you said “more NHL ready”. I was just commenting on the way this team has brought in their young players as quickly as possible over the past 8 years. I was being tongue in cheek, as the words that Willie or Jim used when talking about Virtanen and McCann were that they had nothing left to learn in the CHL and they were better served by playing in the NHL (AHL wasn’t an option). |

Who tf cares what MG thinks?! honestly, wow. - neem55
I mean, anyone who wants their organization to thrive should be interested in a variety of opinions with no bias on their source. Ignoring what Gillis has to say because you disagree with him is short sighted. But hey, we’re 26th, we’re 26th! |

Mike Gillis is more of a lawyer/agent who's always full of excuses.
Jim Benning is a hockey man who was left with that guy's mess. - Nucker101

I agree rushing Jake into the NHL was his problem . It had nothing to do with booze ,drugs , over eating , chasing women and lack of exercise.

Yup, those things all played a part. But living on his own in Vancouver instead of with a billet family in Calgary might have contributed. Also, seeing that both players ended up in the AHL the following season, clearly they weren’t ready for the NHL.
But what do I know, I’m just some shmo on the internet who clearly knows less that Jim and John. |

I had a friend who went to school with Jake and said he always thought he was a big shot right from like 9th grade, always expected all girls to want him, etc. I don't think a billet family was going to fix his attitude. |

True. The entire point wasn’t that he turned into a Richard, he absolutely could have been destined. The point was that the organization said flat out that there was nothing left to learn at a lower level, and then the next year demoted (as did Florida) these players to a lower level.
You freaks take everything so literally.

Like when he said Nate Schmidt/Agent didn't request a trade. No, he's a liar.
