Lee had a full ACL tear and repair job. I think they would be foolish to not let him have the full 5 months to heal and rehab the knee. I am sure Lee would love to come back early but I can't imagine the team would be ok with that idea... but who knows.

He’ll come back whenever the team and their docs feels he’s ready to come back. They’re not going to risk an almost 50 million dollar investment.

Add about 4 litres of tears, and yeah. About nails it.

He’s not coming back for the playoffs, but I’m still encouraged that he appears to be on schedule.

Seems like there is a 0% chance Lee is back at all, even if we were to make the finals and go 7 games.

Andrew Gross @AGrossNewsday
1h
#Isles captain Anders Lee (right ACL) is skating on his own at one end at TD Garden at end of #Isles optional. Before you get too excited, remember Barry Trotz has said, a couple of times, he will not be ready in the postseason. But good sign he'll be fine for training camp.

I do remember it being reported, not long after the injury, that his knee was expected to heal 100% and, at this point, that's the best news any of us could hope for.

I guess there's an extremely outside chance that Trotz is still just playing possum on Lee and he makes some sort of WWF-style surprise entrance in a game at some point if we get out of this series...but I'm not banking on that

If any of you hasn't heard this and has about a half hour to kill, it's pretty amusing. Andrew Gross is with Neil Best and another guy, Stephenson? Anyway, among other things, they talk about Gross getting shot down by Trotz for suggesting Palms on the Barzal line. And they keep pushing the idea....

Trotz will continue to throw him out there in shots. The last couple times Palms was out there with them was when they came out right after the PK and Komarov was out for most of it so he needed a rest. I’ve been saying trotz should be throwing either palms or wahlstrom(of healthy), Beau, anyone for gods sake for offensive draws with that line. It’ll make managing ice time all the more difficult but let’s not make pretend it’s coincidence that the line performs and controls plays, scores, more frequently when Komarov isn’t on it.

Well, the reporters agree with you. I didn't really understand why Palms and Wally didn't get longer looks with Barzal during the regular season. But..... In Trotz We Trust.

Wally? He didn’t even get a look with Barzal but we would most likely have to move Ebs off of there to facilitate that. Palms got a brief stint up there one or two games I think. It’s just incredible that those little glimpses without Komarov on that line results in Boston being hemmed in or a goal for us

Yeah, I know it's "fantasy hockey" to play three first liners on the first line, but it is getting kind of hard not to notice that the fantasy-hockey version of Barzal's line seems to score goals and dominate zone time whenever it gets an opportunity, and without the entire team imploding defensively.

I was at peace with the whole Komarov thing, but then Trotz had to go and tease us by putting Palmieri there for a heartbeat and showing us what could be

Anyone notice on Barzals game winning goal who caused a blue line TO with a check at the offensive blue line?

Don’t all answer at once

Trotz would bust a gut if he ever read the group of fantasy GMs on here

You would think with Trotz basically telling Gross STFU you don’t know what your talking about this whole narrative would stop

Let’s face it Barzals line isn’t the first line. Hasn’t been since the POs started honestly.

Trotz indicated in his post-game, that he ignores such designations. There is no 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th line, says Trotz.

The TO that I think you're referring to was actually in the corner, not the blue line. But the guy who caused it with his heavy hit supposedly speaks many languages.

Oh no Barzal is their most talented player so his line is the 1st. Learned that in gym class.he starts playing consistently like he did last game his minutes may increase.Honestly most coaches don’t.

I thought he also had a hit on the BL before the one in the corner. Either way doesn’t matter. Can’t be true.

Barry acted like Andrew was asking him to play an unproven forward from Bridge with Barzal. Palms is a proven NHL player and Palms scored twice when on that line. How does Palms playing on the 1st line ruin all the other lines? It only makes Barzal and Eberle that much better and takes pressure off the other lines. That question hit a nerve with Barry the way he reacted.

That you spent like four posts mocking anyone who questions Komarov on that line only to turn around a second later and say Barzal’s line hasn’t been the first line since the playoffs started is

That's kind of the point we've been making!

Andrew Gross should be fired for suggesting such a crazy thing.
