It’s hysterical to see fans and hockey writers focused on shot totals. First off I’m not sure who is counting shots for this series but they may be stoned because game 1 and 2 they were 100% off. Also, they haven’t figured out how this team plays or their system. They’re all about keeping shots to the outside and they are a counter team. Blast away from above the dots or along the boards and keep the front of the net clear. Counter and capitalize on mistakes. Bam. We’re going to give up more shots that’s kind of part of the plan and we all know we just don’t throw pucks on net most of the time we’re looking for quality opportunities to get shots through to limit it coming back the other way on us. Nobody can figure that out

I believe he uses, “quality over quantity”
Also the Islanders clog the middle and force everything from the outside so teams know this and shot from everywhere and crash the front for rebounds because typically they aren’t going to get to many open looks.

Trotz also said last night there’s only on clock that maters and that’s the scoreboard.

TSN.CA shows where all the shots come from in their coverage. I always look at that because that tells you the number of chances that are high danger shots.

I added on my post but you posted before. He said the only clock that matters is the scoreboard when someone asked him about the amount of shots the Bruins had compared to the Islanders.
