Jets fire their entire coaching staff!!!!!!!
7 years of wasting elite offensive players and a Vezna goalie.
worst defensive systems in the game.
Fire Maurice now!!!!!! - Ross77
Look like Hellybyuck should have kept his mouth shut trash talking the Oilers about not being able to get it done in the PO's. Hellybyuck is on his way to Luongo status. All reg. season and full choke in PO's lol |

I wonder if that might be dead next year now that they've gone exclusively to the "stand in a circle, clap, salute" type deal. |

I'll go out on a limb in saying PLD has been subpar in Scheifele's absence.

Hipsters just like names like "Dougie", especially when it's not a nickname.

It cost the Rangers a 2nd round pick for Detroit to take 1 year of Marc Staal. It should cost the Oilers a 1st round pick for Detroit to take 2 years of James Neal. - gergeswillems At least.... 1 year of Marleau required a 1st and that was pre pandemic!

1. Oilers acquire a credible goalie under age 39. Elvis Merzlikins? Joonas Korpisalo? Maybe put a call into the Islanders about Semyon Varlamov. Talk to UFA’s Linus Ullmark and Freddie Andersen.
- Edmonton will pursue Grubauer, much the same way they pursued Markstrom last off-season. Very likely they come up short, again, though. Ulmark is intriguing . . .
3. Edmonton general manager Ken Holland should try to come up with enough assets for Detroit’s Steve Yzerman to take James Neal’s contract off his hands to open up more cap space. With his team still a couple of years away from competing, Yzerman will eat bad contracts in exchange for assets that will help him.
- This one scares me . . . I say Oilers should see what they can do with the cap space they already have first. The assets needed to unload Neal could be real costly, especially when dealing with Yzerman!
4. Buffalo Sabres should shake up about half of their roster, just like Florida did last offseason. Identify your core players and then work around the edges of the roster to change it up.
- Identifying Buffalo core players, you say. (?) Are those their best players, or the few that actually want to remain a Sabre???
7. Colorado Avalanche should look trade Devon Toews or Samuel Girard. The three defenseman keepers for the expansion draft are Erik Johnson, Cale Makar and one of those two players. Johnson must be kept because he’s got a no-movement clause. He’s also very popular with the fan base. Would advise against negotiating with Seattle not to take one of those. The lesson learned from the Vegas expansion is that the players given up (Alex Tuch and Shea Theodore for example) are a bigger loss than what would have occurred had the expansion team taken the player. Better to trade with a neutral party.
- Colorado faithful keep swearing that Johsnon will waive his NMC, team guy that he is. If he does it's almost certain that he is safe from Seattle. That leaves probably Graves the odd man out (of note) on their D-core.
8. Blue Jackets should call the Capitals about Evgeny Kuznetsov. The Blue Jackets need an offensive center and the Caps need to clear cap space. He has a modified no-trade clause. Maybe he would like to play in Columbus.
- Kuznetsov to Columbus = doubtful, IMO
15. Oilers should re-sign Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Adam Larsson and then call the Rangers about Anthony DeAngelo. Fans want the Nugent-Hopkins cap money to be used for two players. I think the Oilers would miss Nugent-Hopkins contributions.
- Re-sign RNH . . . maybe; Larsson . . . Definitely; acquire DeAngelo . . . Hell no! On what planet would this make sense for Edmonton??????? Better choice would be to re-sign Barrie than acquire that a$$hat out of NY. Best choice would be to just let Bouchard have his chance in the role Barrie and DeAngelo would play on the Oilers roster. |

Understatement!! The only marginal upside is knowing that the player we traded for him played like dogs#*t, also. (Then her remembers Roslovic went, too . . . DAMNIT!!! LOL)

Tough to have to wrap my brain around another rebuild, but here we are.
If I could trade Eichel for a goalie I new could start for the next decade I'd do it in a heartbeat. Who knows if he's ever 100% again.
Draft Powers, beg Sam to sign another deal or trade him too, trade Risto, and hire a new coach.
Good thing we have an experienced GM with a great hockey department. 😂

The Kraken should absolutely look to trade down in this draft. Making a deal with CBJ for the #5 and one of their other 1st round picks would be beneficial for both teams. The Blue Jackets could get a young D to replace Jones down the line and Seattle would get a great prospect plus more players in their pipeline.
Taking Beniers at #2 is giving me Pat Falloon vibes. Too much too soon could hurt Beniers' development. Taking a player at #5 would keep pressure off the player and allow for a proper development. |
