Not sure if this is a stat anywhere but would like to know how many times this season the Jets have allowed a goal within the final minute of a period. Feels like it must of have over a dozen times this year.

At least a dozen times you would think, but it has been consistent all year of giving up late period goals.

Although would have been better if you showed a Jet that crashed before even taking off from the runway......what with getting swept and all.

Time to clean house. That series was an embarrassment!

Fire Maurice and his coaching staff and get rid of Chevy

Our goalie played well enough to win in the playoffs. Jets don't go anywhere without Scheifle in the lineup. Just like last years playin series against the flames, Scheif goes down and the team doesn't get in.

Losing Demelo doesn't help but our D is not good enough. But, this series Jets doesn't even look like the Edmonton series Jets.

Need big changes on D, coaching, some better role playes than Lewis / Thomson.

Well there it is, Copp and Dubois can (frank) off, both got easily beat on the OT winner, useless and overrated the both of them.

I feel bad for Stasnty getting traded to this poop show.

Understandably, it's a pretty emotional time for everyone right now. We love our Jets!

Fire the GM, head coach, assistant coaches, trainer, team Doctor, P.A. announcer, ushers, etc.

I have my thoughts as well. But time to take step back, have a good night sleep and hopefully the sun comes up tomorrow. Thankfully the result is not a life-altering result for me.

I'm sure owners Mark Chipman and David Thomson are level-headed men. I'm sure they will make decisions that they think will help our team. We may not agree with all of these decisions. But life will go on!

Bet UJ $10 that both A: Maurice isn’t fired, and B: Chevy will eventually be fired first

Chevys ego is the problem.he pushed Trouba and Laine and Byfuglien out the door with little regard to the fabric of the team. its "his way or the Highway" and as a result more pressure is on Scheiffele Morrissey and Hellebuyck. And as good as they are, they cant do it by themselves, the replacements that Chevy as brought in just arent as Talented or experienced as what we had.

its as simple as that...5 minutes talking to Mr Arrogant (Cheveldayoff) and you can hear it for yourself, in his own eyes he can do no wrong and saw it first hand when Travis Hamonic wanted to come home (He's from St. Malo) and Chevy wouldnt sign him. twice.

Scheifele’s suspension does carry over to next season if we don’t come back in this one.

And it’ll cost him 75000$. Can’t say I’m sorry about that.

What do you mean, Copp is supposed to be a second line center in waiting ...........according to some on this board, lol.

Dubois just never found it which is so weird in that last year, he was killer in the Toronto series, yet this year, almost invisible and no hockey brain. And we thought Torts was the problem.........

How can a team go from such an emotional series against the Oil to this series where they looked like a B team with a good goalie? Its horse poop. The entire coaching staff needs to be changed, serious upgrades on D are required and a little more scoring grit if possible. Lewis and Thomson look like they are in their 40,s let alone 30's.

And, while we are at it, thanks to Thomson for the first goal where he could have easily cleared the zone but decided to make a pass and give it away. Terrible play that was a "repeat" all year long of not be able to clear the zone and then follow it up with another late period goal which was a hallmark of this years poopshow D.

Man. Feel bad for you guys. Shouldn't have gone down this way after the high of disposing of the Oilers. The Jets were EASILY my favourite of the North playoff teams.
That was a tough pill to swallow. But, if Montreal can continue to play 100% as a team like they just did, they will continue to surprise. They found exactly what every playoff team needs at just the right time.
...which is why it will probably be no where to be found after a week off and against superior firepower.

Can Shiefele still appeal, or was there a short window for that?
If possible, it would be well worth his effort to see if they will reduce it by one game now.

One thing is for sure, I don’t see how any Maurice lover can justify him coming back next season. The guy goes on a 7 game losing streak prior to the playoffs.

The Oilers series he won three 50/50 games. The question regarding that series is were the Jets playing really good, or were both team playing equally bad and we just got really lucky? I never once got the sense that the Jets were dominating them. Maurice likes to rely on luck.

He gets swept by Montreal in a series where he cannot figure out Montreal’s system. Gets beat by an interim coach that has never coached in the NHL before.

It’s also evident that he does not know how to run an offence without Scheifele.

I don’t see how the organization can justify bringing him back or anyone else on that coaching staff. Our PK consistently sucks. Garbage coaching has cost this team at least 3 year of proper player development. I also love how his steady veteran in Nate Thompson cost us that first goal.

The guy has no faith in young players.

Also if Chevy is going to bring in veterans, bring in guys that were actually good. Guys like Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry, Eric Staal. I am sick and tired when every year we get guys like Letestu, Gabriel Bourque, Matt Hendricks, Trevor Lewis, etc…

It's almost a guarantee now that the Jets strike a deal with Ron Francis in Seattle who loves Maurice. Maybe we keep Stanley as part of that deal.

Crazy thing is that Stanley would not have played if Beaulieu was healthy. Even when Benn was acquired, Stanley went right back to being a healthy scratch for 8 consecutive games. That's the wildest part. I don't know if Makar could crack a Maurice lineup at this point. Maurice can't adapt. Wheeler is clearly playing exhausted, making dumb errors he never would have made. Look at the bench next to you PoMo, and realize that your former studs like Perry can still be great if their TOI is closely monitored. Again PoMo, look how Ducharm benched Tatar (their top scorer last season), and tell my what you saw in Dubois that led to him playing top minutes every night? Maurice has clearly gotten to close with his squad and his loyalties are trumping basic judgement. Special teams were horrendous. He lost this team, and I won't be surprised when he loses his job.

Congrats to Mtl, they controlled every game.

All signs point to Chipman being content with mediocrity with his hockey club, Thomson seems to be a silent partner that has little to do with the running of the organization.
