Vancouver doesn't have a Werenski to carry Jones on a top pairing FFS.
Have they never figured this poop out from Linden Vey and Sven Baertschi? |

What value do you think Schmidt has? He's a top 4 defender, sure, with a contract about a mil too much.
Reinhart is a 25 year old 1st line player. Don't think you're getting him top a top 4 defender plus some bubble players. That doesn't even take into account the young defender from them (don't know anything about him) - NewYorkNuck
Sam is a good 2nd line guy who can play 1st line. His production the last 5 season shows as much. 62 practice is his best production, this year was on a 60pt pace. Not exactly great top line production. |

Jones is a top pairing guy away from Werenski. Could be a great partner for OJ or Rathbone to round out top 4 with Ham and Huggy.
We just can't afford it atm, imo. |

This is PK Subban all over again.
I can't see rover playing with rover making a good pair. It's pretty much Myers and Hughes playing together vs lower competition and get annihilated. |

60 pt pace on a bad offensive team. His 40 points this season has him 65th overall in the NHL, so that's lower end top line.
Based on this article (only one I could find, from 6 years ago), 60 points would put him as a top line player: https://www.habseyesonthe...e-nhl-production-analysis |

I did this 3 years ago. Guys in here wanted 3rd liners to be 50 plus in points. |

If deal revolving around Nate + can be done then go for it. CBJ needs top players locked in. But don't add BB or JTM that some say is okay. |

They were bad but Eichel Hall Skinner Olofsson should not be a bad offensive team

I agree Canucks should not waste assets . I do like looking at all scenarios.
Talking to Columbus fans they say the starting conversations would need a center and Miller could start the conversation. |

To me 65+ is 1st if they put up 30ish goals, otherwise second line.
45-64 is 2nd line with lower point totals being your 20g guys
30-44 is 3rd line
And 4th should be 10+ |

Something around
Miller + Schmidt for Bjorkstrand and Jones extended with other pieces could work. |

Where are you getting these numbers from? Is that for an ideal team, or league wide? Because if you're expecting every first line player to put up 65 points, that'd make for 93 players in the league above 65 points..
in 2019-20 there were 23 forwards 65 points and above.
in 2018-19 there were 59 (Sam Reinhart being one of them!)
in 2017-18 there were 47 forwards.
So, where are you getting your numbers from? |

Quoting myself, but add to that if you think 2nd line players need to score above a 45 point pace, that'd be 186 players in the league doing that...
in 2019-20 there were 88 forwards
in 2018-19 there were 121 fowards
in 2017-18 there were 127 forwards |

Agreed.
I;m with most on here.
Glad some new blood is being added to the coaching ranks, and pleased that coach Clark is locked in for Demko's contract.
I wonder if Shaw took the gig thinking ahead to potentially becoming the heir apparent to the HC role?
I noticed that Ray Shero is joining Minny as an advisor to GM Billy Guerin.
I wish we could add someone with that pedigree to help GMJB.
