they don't understand what the isles are doing...if it's not in the numbers, it doesn't exist...
the only numbers that matter are wins...trotz has five series wins since leaving washington...the caps have...

Nah he will be fine. Palat did the same poop to Pesce the other night. |

Stats are great and very useful but most times people fail to match the appropriate context to said stats. |

Too many people treat it like baseball where the analytics are far more predictive as to what will happen. Hockey isn't a static sport that starts and stops and can be measured like that. Too many other factors to consider. |

This team reminds me of the rangers of 2014 and 2015 but trotz is a proven winner. Only one elite forward and not huge point producers but the the team plays the best team game left in the playoffs |

Correct during the regular season, but a lot of them come alive a hell of a lot more in the playoffs.
Isles currently lead the league in playoff GF and the team in second, Tampa, is 5 goals behind them (in one less game played). They were 3rd in goals in the playoffs in the bubble last year, behind the two teams that both played one more round than them. |

Lou knows how to find playoff performers. See palmeri vs hall.

Haha exactly. Yesterday it was Hedman isn’t any good and he shouldn’t be a Norris finalist even though he is regularly paired with fringe NHLer Jan Rutta. |

They're pretty opposite. Hall can rack up all the points he wants to, for the most part, during the regular season. But not once last night did he try and make his way to the middle of the ice. He's a perimeter player that needs to rely on his speed to beat guys and when that doesn't work...he doesn't bring a whole lot else. Palmieri has been willing to take a beating in the postseason and it's paid off. Only MacKinnon, Marchand, and Point have more goals than him so far (he's tied with Saad and Pastrnak) |

The Devils teams of the 1990s were a pristine example. |

I know they have no cap space and guys to sign but I have a feeling Lou moves Eberle in the offseason whether the expansion draft or trade and tries to resign Palmieri |

Lot of the players are much better in the playoffs. It's a good thing or the Isles would be in trouble. This Tampa series will really tell the story though against a truly elite team. Forwards have to bury their chances against Tampa. |

Yeah not really sure what it takes to give this team and it’s coach a little credit though they thrive on the underdog mantra. Also, that Pegula guy on your thread is a complete, pompous, douche nozzle who knows Jack shat. Come on there to have a hockey discussion and he flies off the handle every, single, time. |
