Hank - your articles are quite enjoyable. Easy to read but good insight too. I usually go straight to the comments but not with your ish.

Eklund at 1? - Feds91Stammer
Really depends on what happens with Eichel IMO and the pieces coming back. I would take Eklund at 2, if Byfield comes back I would take Power at 1 |

I don't see Kevyn giving a single poop about anything but BPA regardless of trade returns. We already know that his version of BPA is not the BPA the fans see today.

I'm mostly here to learn through Beady's dissertations. I can't believe he doesn't have a Masterclass.

@LLysowski
The Sabres’ debate at No. 1 will include three players from @umichhockey: Owen Power, Matty Beniers and Kent Johnson.
To learn more about each player, I spoke to the two goalies who faced them every day in practice: Strauss Mann and Erik Portillo.

bpa is also somewhat ambiguous...for instance:
is it best player pre-draft?
or does best player equal most upside? |

He defined BPA. It's the best player available that has the highest upside and fits their character requirements.

I think Guenther will be gone 3rd overall - gerbe75pts
To me the top 4 is already locked.
Power
Beni
Eklund
Hughes
They could be shuffled in any order. Hughes only Drops to 4th could be taken before that. If Devils don't get him then they take Eklund.
Beni is going top 3 probs either to Buff or Kraken.
Power same thing.
If anything Anaheim could "reach" for him I guess But I see them taking Hughes or Eklund.
Speculation is fun

People hate Jack Quinn because he isn't better than Marco Rossi or Cole Perfetti today. I've dug pretty deep on him leading up to and post draft (after it was rumored the Sabres really liked him) and absolutely love his back story and phenomenal development curve. He was a (frank)ing nobody a year prior. That's impressive that he scaled unimaginable odds to get into the top 15 ranks.
He's going to be good, and gooder than Drew Goddamn Stafford, ya (frank)ing haters. |

He could, just if you fill certain areas with a Eichel trade, you can hit another with the draft. Lots of newds. |

He was playing 2 sports before his draft year and Hockey wasn't his first choice till he realized how good he could be if he put all his time into 1 sport.

that's another one...let's say that the top five players all have the character they want...as we go through the list:
power is a safe bet who may have 2/3 upside
berniers is a top-six talent who may top out at a two-way, lower-end 1st-line center
hughes is somewhat of an unknown because of his age but projects out as a probable top-four d-man but his upside is that of a dynamic, top-pairing rearguard
eklund and guenther look to be a top-six talents with dynamic top-line upside
i guess it comes down to what you want and how you spin it |
